This Historical Farmhouse offers a quiet, country getaway. You can experience a true farm setting with chickens, sheep, goats, llamas and more all excited to meet an interact with our guests! A huge wrap-around covered porch offers views of barns, 3 acres of pastures, the private fishing pond, and the beautiful Mohican Forest. Inside, you'll feel at home with plenty of room for 14 guests, a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, wifi, satellite TV, 2 bathrooms, and washer and dryer. The Mohican Farmhouse is a great way to get a feel what life is like living on the farm. The rooster crowing in the morning (don't worry, he's far enough away that you won't hear him in the bedroom), the llamas, sheep and goats roaming the pastures, ducks on the pond, fresh eggs that can be gathered in the morning all make for a farm-life experience. Of course we have care-takers for the animals, so you don't have to do any more than sit back and watch them if you want. The farmhouse itself is a blend of past and present--its over a hundred years old, but has all of todays modern conveniences such as wifi, satellite TV and air conditioning. The entire house, large barn, pastures and ponds are accessible. You will be asked for a 4-digit code to unlock the front door for access to the property. Shane lives within 15 minutes and typically available to help with a phone call, email or text. Someone is typically at the property at least once every other day to care for the animals. Though we try not to disturb you while caring for the animals, you are more than welcome to ask questions or for an up close experience with the animals. The farmhouse is located on a very private, quiet setting with the Mohican Forest bordering the west side. A short walk down the street leads to the trail head that offers a beautiful hike through the state forest and into the heart of the Mohican State Park. There is plenty of parking at the farmhouse, in front of the house and along the lane to the large red barn. Dogs are permitted for a fee of $25/dog/stay.
