The rural setting affords time to rest from busy activities and enjoy bird watching and quiet. An antennae provides 32 channels, not cable. Cell phones work but signals vary. I have better WiFi but not high speed. I have a cat in my area but not yours. Two creeks down the hill and acres of woods provides walking vistas. Be prepared for my dog to greet you, he loves company but stays downstairs. I have opened the top floor of my home for guests, creating a large space with two beds, table, living room, library and a large game room beside it. You can stretch out and relax. There is a private bathroom. Interaction is guest based. Privacy or friendly chats depend on your needs. The rural setting interferes with cell phone access sometimes but does work. I will share WiFi connection for e-mail and you can watch a movie and use the internet . I have a sign, Woodland Rest at my driveway for you to turn in. GPS tries to bring you in by my mailbox but ignore that. The house is hard to see especially in the dark. Being close to Smith Mt. lake opens up many opportunities to boat, fish or picnic. There are many small restaurant venues and shops strewn around the lake.Roanoke is 33 miles and Lynchburg is 22. Both have airports and Amtrack. The Old Mill Venue hosts weddings and parties close by. The Blue Ridge is only 20 miles and mountain views are seen while driving.There are 3 disc golf courses in Bedford county offering tournaments. Smith Mt. lake has many activities, fishing tournaments, the state park and boating. My 40 acre woodland has multiple creeks and unspoiled land but walking on the road is best to avoid pests. The access roads are gravel with small rock cliffs with plenty of wildlife. GPS tries to bring you in on the steep end, try to enter from Headens Bridge Rd. Look for my Woodland Rest sign.
