*Featured in Dwell Magazine (July/August 2022) An ideal retreat for couples, individuals, or groups of friends looking to escape and relax in the woods without the hassles of camping. If you have any questions, just reach out! We're excited to have you! We aim to provide all the essentials you need for a vacation in the woods. Sleeping: - 1 Queen bed - Bench area with memory foam cushions - Bedding and Pillows provided *We would say our house can sleep 4 adults. 2 in the queen bed and 2 in the memory foam bench/couch area. The 2nd bench sleeping spot is a little shorter than a typical bed, but please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about sleeping arrangements. We will have extra sheets in the house for reservations of more than 2 people, but if you prefer sleeping bags, we ask that you bring your own. Kitchen: - Induction stovetop with 2 burners - Sink - Mini-fridge (with a small freezer) - Pot, 2 frying pans, spatula, tongs, cooking spoon, and cutting board - Cups, bowls, plates, and silverware - Salt and pepper - We do not have a garbage disposal, so please discard food waste into the garbage Our goal is to provide a kitchen that allows guests to cook meals without leaving the property during their stay. We have the essentials you will need to cook a meal, but since it is a tiny house and space is limited, it might not have everything you are used to having at your home. We suggest bringing your own spices, cutting knives, or speciality cookware if you think you will need it. If you plan on bringing any pots/pans, try to make sure they're induction compatible. Please reach out if you have any questions about what we provide! Let us know what you end up cooking, we love having suggestions to offer to future guests! Bathroom: - Shower - Sink - Composting toilet - Clean Towels provided *Our bathroom has a large shower, composting toilet, and a sink. The toilet is easy to use, but because it’s a little different than a normal household toilet, we ask that you read the instructions above the toilet before using it. There is a specific area for you to go #1 and another area for you to go #2, please try to follow the instructions to avoid any potential issues during your stay. Firepit: - Firepit with bench seating We do not provide firewood, but there may be some left behind by previous guests that you're welcome to use. Land: This is our 2nd house on the property. The two houses are located about 750 feet apart with a dense forest in between, so you will not be able to see the other house or guests during your time at the house, but we ask that you respect their privacy when passing Unit 1 on the driveway. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please let us know! Parking: We have a designated parking spot with a walking path leading to the house. If you plan to have more than 1 car, please let us know, but it will be fairly obvious where to park it once you're out there. *No Street Parking* Water: Water is from our well. Water heater provides hot water to the shower and sinks. Cooling and Heating: We have a mini-split unit that provides A/C and Heat to the house and bathroom. All temperature adjustments can be made via the white remote in the house. Internet: If you're looking to unplug and escape technology, you don't even have to connect to our Wi-Fi, but we still have it if you need it. Our internet is usually consistent and plenty good for web browsing and general use throughout the day, but it's not necessarily setup to stream large amounts of video. You should still be able to stream videos, but it might not be as fast as traditional Wi-Fi in the city nowadays. We recommend pre-downloading any movies/shows you want to watch before you check-in. Pet Fee: We allow up to 2 dogs, no cats or other animals, maximum 40 lb. per dog. $50 flat fee. If you plan on bringing your dog, please make sure to add a pet onto your reservation when you book, that way the pet fee gets added automatically. If you forget or decide later that you want to, just send us a message and we can add it onto your reservation. Safety: **PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW SAFETY GUIDELINES WHEN YOU HAVE A BONFIRE! Do not leave the fire unattended, and make sure to put the fire out when you are done. If you do not have experience starting bonfires, please make sure you inform yourself before starting a fire. We want to make sure you are safe, and we also want to protect the forest, our house, and our neighbor's houses. **To prevent the spread of emerald ash borer and other invasive insects, the DNR developed a permanent rule which prohibits visitors from bringing firewood from locations further than 10 miles away from the property. Please make sure you buy your firewood locally if you choose to bring your own. Please reach out with any questions/concerns you have about this and we will be happy to provide locations that sell firewood locally. Please reach out if you have any questions! We're excited to have you at Off-Grid Inn. You'll have access to the Unit 2 house, bathroom, deck/stairs, and fire pit area. We will not be on site, but we are only a phone call or message away if you have any questions or issues during your stay. Big Falls County Park is only a 10 minute drive from our property. If you're looking for a fun place to spend an warm afternoon, there's swimming areas, a waterfall, and some hiking trails. Would really recommend checking it out. Beaver Creek Reserve is also about 10 minutes from our house. It's a great place to go for a walk in nature! Our cabin has a few neighboring houses. The closest house is about 400 feet down the street, but there is very limited visibility of their house from our cabin, especially once you get back in the woods. Our neighbors have explicitly asked that our guests do not contact them. We ask that you keep the noise levels down at night and be generally respectful. Please call us if you have any issues during your stay and we will be happy to assist you. Pet Fee: We allow up to 2 dogs, no cats, maximum 40 lb. per dog. $50 flat fee. If you plan on bringing your dog, please make sure to add a pet onto your reservation when you book. If you forget or decide later that you want to, just send us a message and we can add it onto your reservation.
