Secluded forest home with fantastic views
House up the Hill is hidden on 13 cool ponderosa acres at 7200ft just south of the town of Williams. Adjacent to Kaibab National Forest the property offers endless opportunities. Hike and explore Bill Williams mountain, kayak or fish local lakes or relax on the gazebo enjoying views of the surrounding forest, distant peaks or clear night sky. Drive 10 minutes to historic Route 66 and downtown Williams "Gateway to the Grand Canyon", home to Grand Canyon Railway and many shops and restaurants. The house is clean, comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is well supplied with coffee maker and all the kitchen essentials needed to make a meal. The large bedroom has a queen sized bed with view of the forested hillside behind. Additional queen pull out couch is available in living area. The spacious, spa-like bathroom has separate toilet room and large shower with bench and additional hand held shower head. Attached gazebo has a BBQ, comfortable seating and a Bistro table. Relaxing on the gazebo is a favorite activity, from viewing the San Francisco Peaks (Flagstaff) to sighting wildlife (birds, elk, deer, coyote and fox are frequent visitors) or just enjoying the smells and sounds of the cool mountain forest. If the weather is too cold, cozy up to a warm fire in the wood burning stove and enjoy the same views from the great room. Hosts live down the hill (1/3 mile away) and are usually available to you throughout your visit, but will definitely respect your privacy. Our property is secluded on 13 wooded acres and adjacent to National Forest land on two sides. The property is minutes from the town of Williams, home to the Grand Canyon Railway, Bearizona, Canyon Coaster Adventure Park and Historic Rt 66. Williams has all the old, small town charm with many restaurants, cafes and novelty shops. But if you want to fully enjoy this property a stop by the modern, well stocked Safeway may be your Williams destination of choice. Four wheel drive vehicle is required for access to the House up the Hill due to the steep cinder rock drive. Property is inaccessible in snow. 7 miles to Dog Town Lake, 17 miles to White Horse Lake, less than 10 minutes to the town of Williams and Bearizona, 45 min to Flagstaff, an hour to Grand Canyon National Park, 90 min to Sedona and less than 2 hours to the old mining town of Jerome this is a perfect northern Arizona base camp.
