The Pool House Too is a gorgeous one bedroom hideaway steps from the beach at Paunch, one of Bocas' most beautiful surf beaches. The house has a private plunge pool within lush tropical gardens, a comfortable lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, both en-suite bathroom and guest half bathroom, and a covered outside lounge/dining area. There is a washer and dryer, private covered parking and good WiFi. The bedroom is air conditioned. There are 7 restaurants/cafes within walking distance of the house. The house is very private and has its own private gardens surrounding the pool, pool patio, and house, plus a private covered car port for parking. The garden and house are enclosed by a fence. The house is accessed by a small gate and three steps leading to the large covered patio with dining and lounge area and the pool and pool patio. The patio has a picnic table with benches for four, comfortable built-in sofas, and beautiful hand-made Adirondack chairs next to the pool. This area is perfect for enjoying the gardens and the many birds that visit (including hummingbirds, parrots and toucans), relaxing on the sofas or in the deck chairs with your morning coffee, or listening to the crickets begin to chirp as the sun goes down. The plunge pool has a seat running around the inside, allowing you to sit and relax in the pool with a cooling drink any time of the day. Sliding glass doors give access to the inside lounge and kitchen area. The lounge has comfortable built-in sofas, great for being cozy inside on a rainy day, and a table and stools for two. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas oven and stove, fridge with freezer, toaster, and all the utensils you need. The guest bathroom, bedroom, and master ensuite bathroom lead off of the lounge. The bed is queen size with 100% pure percale cotton linens, thick soft pillows, a deliciously comfortable pillow top pad, and a light cotton blanket for cooler nights. There are efficient wall fans cooling the lounge, bedroom, and ensuite bathroom plus air conditioning in the bedroom for warmer nights. The spacious bathroom has double sinks and a walk-in hot water rain shower. Both bath and hand towels and beach towels are provided plus hand soap, shower gel and shampoo, plentiful toilet paper, and reusable makeup remover pads. The guest half bathroom has a toilet and sink plus the washer and dryer. We provide laundry detergent. The trees on the property and surrounding the house are often visited by Howler and Capuchin monkeys and sloths and larger birds such as Black Hawks, Oropendolas, toucans and parrots as well as an array of colourful smaller birds and lots of butterflies. The house is situated on a private property with three other houses surrounded by jungle and gardens and accessed by a main property gate and is just a short walk down the private access driveway to reach the beach and the surf. You can hear the sound of the waves... There are seven good restaurants offering breakfast, lunch and dinner within walking distance of the house, and Bocas town, with many restaurants, supermarkets and other facilities is a 10 minute taxi ride away. We provide the makings of your first breakfast which are either bagels and eggs or an oat and chia pudding that can be either vegetarian or vegan, and fruit, butter and milk and there are plentiful supplies of coffee, sugar and teas (a selection of black, green and herbal teas for the duration of your stay). We also provide oil, local hot sauce, and a selection of spices and herbs. Our beautiful Sun House sleeping two people is located right next door to The Pool House, so if you need more accommodation for your group, this is the perfect place for you. The entire private gardens, patios, pool, car port and house are for guest use only. Paunch Beach is located on the main island of Bocas Del Toro, Isla Colon, and is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bocas Islands. It's also a very popular surf beach. Located between Big Creek and Bluff beaches, it's just a short (10 minute, $3) taxi ride from the airport and Bocas town, supermarkets and restaurants. Despite its proximity to town, it also has an abundance of wildlife, is incredibly peaceful and boasts some of the best surf spots in Bocas. Paunch also has seven great restaurants that are all within walking distance of The Pool House Too offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you're a surfer, then Paunch is a fantastic location for your stay in Bocas. The Pool House Too is just a few minutes' walk from these amazing surf spots - Tiger Tail (2 minutes walk), Tuna (1 minutes walk - literally at the end of the driveway), Paunch Break (10 minutes walk) and Dumpers (15 minutes walk). Here at The Pool House Too you're also likely to be lucky enough to see monkeys, sloths and many types of birds including toucans and parrots right on the property. Although best known for its surf, Paunch is lovely in and of itself. Its shoreline affords wonderful views of Bastimentos and Isla Carenero and at some times of year or during low tide, you can explore the dozens of little sandy wading spots between the reef. These secluded spots can be perfect to spend time lounging in the water, many times with complete privacy. It may be one of the island’s best and most convenient places to spend the day and at one of the nearby beachside bars and restaurants. For those that are coming to surf, one of the popular aspects of this area is that the waves break both left and right, and tend to vary in size, making it perfect for a variety of skill levels. The left is popular for its large barrels when the swell is big. The waves at Tiger Tails are popular on the days with small but playful waves and are great for a casual surf session. The easiest way to get to Paunch and around the island is by taxi. We are happy to assist you with taxi bookings during your stay. You can also hire bicycles, electric bikes, quad bikes, motorcycles (one rental company is a few minutes walk from the house) golf carts and 4x4 cars for the duration of your stay. If you hire a vehicle you can park it securely right outside the house under the covered carport. There are both dogs and cats on the property, they are all very friendly. You may get a visit from one of the cats.
