Absolutely the best location in all of Bolinas! Smack dab in the middle of town. Short walk to EVERYTHING including the beach. Yet FAR off the main road, and deep within the back of our private, quiet beach compound. Your own private beach shack! New, modern feel, simple, bright, lots of windows, cozy, small, off to itself, beach shack. Its own private backyard within the back of our beach compound. Private bathroom, with super hot outdoor shower, short walk away. Poets, surfers, artists, travelers, free spirits, people who throw a toothbrush and a swimsuit in their backpack/purse/pocket love this place. People who ask "Why is there no TV?", shouldn’t book. People with big rolling suitcases may not be a fit. For the young, and the young at heart. There are twists and turns to get there. You’ll need to duck under grapevines and palm trees. It is a long windy path though a secret garden. It is dark path through trees at night with no lights. A fox might visit you. If you leave your food out a raccoon will eat it. A deer might sleep next to your door. 5 (quiet at night) chickens (no wake you up in the morning Rooster) are right next door. The bathroom, with HOT shower is a short walk from your bungalow. The space is small, but tall and feels roomy with lots of windows and light. It is 2 leather chairs and a comfy queen size bed. There is a private yard in the back inside (within the must larger compound). Great to catch the sun or to look at stars at night. Yes, there are deers, foxes, raccoons and other wildlife listening to and watching you at night - but they are fenced separately from you. Smack dab in the middle of town, next to the beach and feels like you are in the country. If the country had banana trees (with actual bananas! Because we literally have the best weather in all of Bolinas on our property. Sheltered from the wind, covered by the sun). Is it magic? Yes. Is it for everyone? No. We've been ripping the sign down for decades for a reason. Not everyone should find Bolinas. Private beach shack in the backyard of our beach compound. Peaceful and quiet spot, steps away from downtown and short walk to the beach. We can be friendly and helpful or leave you to explore on your own. Once you arrive/find us we generally leave you alone, unless you want to interact or have any questions/needs. You are on Wharf road. Wharf is the main, and only, commercial street in Bolinas. EVERYTHING is right here. And you are in the best possible location for all of it! Wharf road dead ends into the ocean, and it is from the end of Wharf road that our commercial fishermen leave each morning. In addition to the ocean, you also have local gift shops, 2 surf shops (including the legendary Buzz Surf Shop since 1962!), People Store Organic grocery market, library, community center, John's market, 11 Wharf Restaurant, Coast Cafe, Smiley Saloon, Bolinas Museum, Bolinas Gallery and more! You can take a bus here from San Francisco airport or city, but only worthwhile if you are here for more than one day. Easiest way to get here is by car. Though once you get here you won't need a car again unless you head off to nearby Stinson Beach or hiking. Park anywhere on Wharf or Brighton - no fee to park, and you don't need to move for 3 days. Our spot is quiet at night. We like quiet and so do our neighbors. No Smoking. Keep in mind the town itself is louder in the Summer and on weekends. Also the community center is very close to us, and sometimes hosts concerts (including great Reggae, generally twice a year).
