"Cool Times In The Pines" is a cabin nestled in the confines of the Tonto National Forest offering great outdoor experiences with cozy cabin comfort. It provides a mix of nature, shopping, restaurants and creature comforts being only one mile from downtown Pine and adjacent to the national forest. The wildlife is abundant with Elk, deer and other animals in the yard at various times throughout the day. Our guests can play horseshoes or sit on one of the 4 decks which offer beautiful views. The property is filled with trees, flowers, and wildlife. The kitchen is fully loaded with all the kitchenware necessary to make virtually any meal you so like. We also have a Gas and Charcoal grills with propane included (however charcoal not usable when fire restrictions are in place). We have a basic coffee maker (not a Kuerig) and supply Folgers ground coffee as well as the filters. However, we also have bean grinder and French Press for use (must supply your own beans). The house sleeps four comfortably or up to six with the use of the hideaway bed in the couch. Plenty of sheets and blankets for all. Please see the note on the maximum to avoid any issues with Septic System. We have an HVAC system for both heating and cooling (see manual for use with remote, located in the living room). We also have baseboard heater in downstairs bedroom as well as space heaters to supplement further in addition to the wood burning stove which can be used for heat or just for ambience. Lastly, we do allow pets, but do ask that you clean up after your pet (inside and outside) and keep them off the furniture as much as possible. Further, please ensure when outside to keep pet on leash or restrained on the lower deck if they are prone to go after animals or other dogs to avoid spooking Elk and chasing any neighbor dogs being walked on the road as well as getting hit by a passing car, truck or ATV! NOTE: The yard is NOT fenced (split rail fencing only). it is possible to try to block the two stair sets of the front lower deck however to fence in your fur baby(ies), provided they aren't big jumpers! Let us know if you have any questions however when it comes to your pet's visit. We will be available for any issues, questions or concerns via cell throughout your stay and will provide alternate contact numbers if for any reason we won't be. There will always be a person available to assist during your stay. The neighborhood features several of the best restaurants on the rim such as Old County Inn, Pinewood Tavern and That Brewery. There are also great breakfast spots such as Pine Creek Fudge and Espresso and Early Bird Cafe. It is also only a mile from Pine Trail (part of the Arizona Trail), 15 miles from Payson, which has virtually everything and Strawberry (3 miles) which also features several bars and restaurants (Sportsman Chalet, Bandits, The Weekender and Mamajoes Italian). For outdoor activities and breathtaking views there are many options minutes away to an hour away including Tonto National Bridge (3 miles away), Pine Trail Head/Arizona Trail (1 mile away) , Ellison Creek (about 15 miles away), East Verde River (10 miles away), Fossil Creek (8 miles away) etc. Also a short drive away from Rim Road and other rim related locations (Payson, Christopher Creek etc.). There are also several nearby rim lakes (Knoll, Woods Canyon etc.) Activities are really limitless but most popular would be hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, kayaking and off road driving/quads etc. High Speed Wifi, Blue Ray, DVD, and VCR as well as 3 TVs, two of which have streaming devices added (no cable): both are Roku to load your favorite streaming channels (must have your own account for those apps however). Also several board games, cards are provided for your entertainment pleasure indoors. Great front yard complete with tree swing, night lights and horseshoes as well as a few sports balls for fun outside. The front lower deck features two swings plus table and six chairs. The upstairs decks each have two cushioned chairs for enjoying one of the best views of the rim in Arizona!!! You'll love enjoying coffee tea or adult beverage on either of these decks!!
