HARVARD HOUSE-The Gathering Place Super Hosts Rob & Tao - Beautiful home in Boston area, 15 acres of wooded grounds, a magical atmosphere. Ideal for small weddings, family gatherings, teambuilding, medical-cations "Harvard House is an amazing place, it helped our family renew the ties that bind." "The team created a shared vision, conflicts got ironed out, built a rallying momentum." "Our wedding at Harvard House was amazing." "Our group split the costs which made it quite affordable." "What makes a great Airbnb?" asks Brian Chesky CEO of Airbnb. "It's a home that feels like a home. You could live there not just for a night, you could live there." Harvard House is a 100-year-old beautiful Victorian-era home like few others in the Boston area. As you drive up the driveway, you may see a deer, turkey, or other wildlife in the nearby woods. There are beautiful flowers and shrubbery everywhere, not to mention plenty of off-street parking. The 100-year-old house with its grand columns and red porch creates an inviting entrance and aspirational feeling that makes it seem like you've arrived home. The house has five and 1/2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The moment you open the door of Harvard House and go inside, you can't help but notice the homey atmosphere, the amply stocked kitchen and pantry, the carefully laid out personal touches with antiques and original artwork, and the many cozy places to just sit and talk. You are surrounded by a stylish and comfortable atmosphere - a walnut-paneled study with a 60-inch TV, the gracious living room with two curved sofas, the magnificent Turkish lamp that hangs over a big dining room table, and the Edwardian leather-topped desk with a printer to do your work. Each bedroom is a home (office) away from home with a special personality all of its own. Each is designed to be the perfect place to get some rest, read a book, or plug into a global Zoom meeting. The house can accommodate up to 8-10 people for sleeping in 5 to 6 bedrooms. 2/1/2 baths You can come here by Uber and the Commuter Rail and subway are just minutes away. *We call the place a Boutique Global Meeting Center because people come here from all over the world to hold both family gatherings and team sessions in this secluded but close-at-hand spot. People go on trips and plan a family or team meeting to have a certain kind of experience, whether it's bonding as a family or building a great team. Yet often the places--office buildings and hotels--where they have those meetings don't give them ACCESS to the kind of experience they want to have. We have designed the Harvard House to provide you with just what's missing that will make a difference. The house is the kind of place many people aspire to, beautiful and tastefully decorated, it will make you and your group feel good about yourselves. The living room, dining room, and club room layout on the first floor is perfect for having a family gathering or the kind of powerful team conversation that will never happen at the office or Marriott. The woodsy area surrounding the house, with walking trails, creates the perfect atmosphere for contemplation or private one-on-one chats. *The global meeting room(s) can also be rented without the sleeping rooms and is also a good place for professionals to have team meetings or to meet one-on-one or in small groups. A Big 4 Consulting Group has used cooking a meal together as team building. Families have made Christmas and Thanksgiving or rehearsal dinner meals. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, and all the basic things you need to cook so you don't have to run to the store for every little thing--coffee, tea, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, mustard, mayo, spices, cornstarch, flour, etc. It can also be used by professionals who don't have an office but need a private place to engage for the day or half a day. I am the author of Masterful Coaching, E Leader, Strategy is How, and co-director of the Harvard Leadership Research Project, and have facilitated 100's of high-stakes meetings. I am also the head of a big family and like a big family atmosphere that brings everyone together as a group or team, and I have designed the house with this in mind. One of the great things about Airbnb that makes it so much fun for me is that I get to meet (and make friends with) so many fascinating and intriguing people from all over the world. Note: My wife and I are friendly but will respect your privacy unless you want to interact. We like helping people have a great experience, so if you need something extra to make your visit better, don't hesitate to ask, however large or small the request. Just ask if you need someone to talk to for any reason or a masterful thinking partner or facilitation help. Harvard House is in a super convenient location that is "close" to everything--including mountains, the sea shore, or downtown Boston. We are located just 5 minutes from Route 95 and many global corporate office centers, yet are in a totally wooded and secluded spot that actually stretches over 10 acres of land. At the same time, you can jump in a cab and in 20 or 30 minutes be at a Harvard Business School course, Boston Red Sox game, "Broadway" play, or the Financial District. There are many ethnic restaurants on Moody Street in Waltham, including some really world-class ones. You will find a list of good to great restaurants when you arrive in our kitchen area as well as a list of things to do, shopping, etc. (Yes, we have Chipotle, Panera Bread, Bertucci's, and Starbucks too.) See Top 10 Waltham restaurants on Yelp or Trip Advisor. Guests can stay in our well-furnished rooms with new mattresses. You will help relax and get a sound, good, deep sleep with our plush pillows and duvet down comforters, and quiet atmosphere. ps. there is a school being built nearby so once in a while you may hear something. Uber cabs are readily accessible to take you to Harvard Square, New England Patriots Games, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Boston Symphony, Chinatown, "Italian Town," a dizzying array of "Gourmet Food Trucks," or for a good hike at Walden Pond, made famous by the wizened philosopher Henry David Thoreau. UBER or Veteran's Taxi Waltham can take you to Alewife Station where you can catch the "T" to Boston or Cambridge. The Boutique Global Meeting Place is updated with upscale furniture, original artwork, and some antiques. The house can accommodate groups of 8 to 15. It's the kind of atmosphere that lends itself to people not only relaxing together but engaging in "real conversations." The living room, dining room, and study are spacious and can be used for family meetings or team-building sessions. The bedrooms are well-furnished and can accommodate up to ten people. ( If you want to bring more people, please inquire about extra guests and fees.) You will rest well on beds with new mattresses, duvets, and crisp cotton sheets. The price for a business meeting room for one day plus sleeping rooms for one night is $1000.
