CASA MARGARITA is a one of a kind home, located on the quiet side of Bahia San Carlos in a very private, safe and secure waterfront location close to both marinas, several restaurants, cantinas, grocery stores and shopping. The newly remodeled casa and casitas are on a double size lot with extensive outdoor living space. We can easily sleep 4 couples in King and Queen beds, or accommodate single friends or family members by setting two of the King Rooms with Twin Bedding. There is also a queen size Sofa Bed in the Palapa Grande. The large pool, hot tub, Tiki Bar and outdoor kitchen are surrounded by a virtual botanical garden which would rival any big resort in Mexico. The flowering plants, palms and fruit trees creating a natural privacy that you will not find anywhere else in San Carlos. Casa Margarita is perfect for family vacations, a couples get away or special occasions. Guests have full use of the entire ground floor space of our spacious waterfront home. Rental space includes 4 bedrooms and 4 Bathrooms each with a shower. The indoor and outdoor living area is contained within a very large tropical garden yard, which is secured from the street and arranged around a large swimming pool. There is a large lighted parking area and one parking space within the secured yard for a vehicle, small boat or ATV trailer. The Palapa Grandé, large indoor kitchen, and two King bedrooms are within the main house, plus there are two nicely decorated Casitas: one a queen bedroom and the other can be a King or twins. Each Casita has a nice bathroom and shower. Surrounding the large swimming pool and jacuzzi is a spacious tiled outdoor entertainment space including dining and kitchen area with built in charcoal BBQ and great covered Tiki Bar surrounded by bamboo and palms. There is also a large ocean side patio with a round Palapa with seating and a private dock on the Bahia. Guests are able to use and enjoy our entire spacious property, except for the unoccupied and secured Owners Suite on the second floor. This is where we keep our clothes and personal things. Please respect our home and property. We ask that you not pick fruit from our trees during your stay. Kathy and I are available by email or text, however we live at our remote Alaska Lodge most of the year. You will be met upon arrival by our Casa Hostess, Camila. She will give you keys for entry and will show you the amenities of our spacious property. Camila knows all the systems at Casa Margarita and can to assist you in any way. Casa Margarita is on the quiet side of Bahia San Carlos, far enough that you can’t hear the booming music of the beach clubs all night, yet close enough that you can participate at what every level you like. If you enjoy hiking and exploring, we are walking distance from the base of San Carlos’s iconic Mount Tetakawi and another great hiking trail along the rugged coastline leading to secluded beaches, still loaded with colorful seashells and other treasures from the Sea of Cortez. Uniquely enough, our closest neighbor, just a stones throw away is Cyberco Security, who provides 24 hr. Security and Alarm monitoring for all of San Carlos. Great and helpful neighbors, manned 24/7 with a response time of 9 seconds to Casa Margarita. The Bahia Sector is a well established neighborhood, with very nice homes owned by American, Canadian and Mexican families. Please keep the noise and music down, observe the House Rules. Most guests either drive south from Tucson, entering Mexico at Nogales, or fly American Airlines which has daily flights to Hermosillo (HMO), arriving and depart about NOON. Many San Carlos visitors use this convenient flight and rent from one of several car rental agencies in HMO. Shuttles or taxis can be arranged as well. It is about 1.5 hours to San Carlos on a new divided concrete highway, which is totally completed between Hermosillo and San Carlos. We understand they are still working on sections between Nogales and Hermosillo. Private or charter aircraft can fly right in to Guaymas, which is an International Airport less than 15 minutes from San Carlos. This is where we I keep our airplane and clear customs when we are here. There are several nice restaurants, gift shops, cantinas in San Carlos as well as several dive shops and boat charters. We recommend Fernando at Catch 22 or Bryan at Team Margarita for a personal sport fishing experience or one of the charter boats from Dock M in the San Carlos Marina for sight seeing or sport fishing. Dining: Breakfast at La Cabaca is hard to beat. We enjoy Tortuga’s, Colibrí’s and Cotidiano 1922 in the new Casa Maria Hotel for excellent dining. Casual dining and lunch with a great atmosphere, try Hammerheads, Palapa Griega and Mercado San Carlos. Specializing in seafood, Charley’s Rock, Los Arbolitos and Marisco el Rey, all on the main road. The best burgers in town are found at Jax Snax or the gourmet style at Boye’s Burgers. Best traditional Mexican food is Chuahua's and Tequilas. If you want great ice cream, Thrifty is the best.
