This is the perfect room for a single person coming to the area for classes or just to see the area, however the bed is big enough for a couple who still like to snuggle. The room is cozy, safe and very comfortable. Welcome to the Greener Oak Guest House and our smaller cozy Red Oak Room. This newly decorated room had a very comfortable new full sized bed and is a great room if you are looking for 1 or 2 nights for just sleeping. There are now new accommodations that include television, a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave as well as free WiFi. We are located on a quite street near the center of town in historic Hyde Park, NY with all kinds of wonderful places to visit and to eat. We are only 10 minutes from the Poughkeepsie train station which has both Metro North and Amtrak service. A little to our north is Rhinebeck, NY with all their quaint shops and attractions. Right here in Hyde Park, we have all the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt homes and museums plus many other historic mansions on the Hudson. And of course, we have the world renowned Culinary Institute of America with it's fine dinning as well as instructions in cooking. The influence of the CIA if evident in the great places we have to eat. For the out door enthusiast, we have well maintained hiking and biking trails, kayaking on the Hudson River and cross country skiing in the winter. On a quieter note, we have one of the last remaining operating outdoor drive in theaters open from April until the end of September. We really love greeting our guests and are available most of the time for questions or directions. Our neighborhood is shady and quiet. We have wonderful neighbors but everyone respects their privacy. We are centrally located and are with in walking distance to public busses. This walking distance, however, is on two smaller country roads so automobile transportation is better.
