We love our charming, mid-century cottage, decorated in classic Cape style, full of comfy furniture and antique glassware, but with all modern conveniences and appliances. Ramble in our acre of back woods, or hop in the outdoor shower on the way back from the beach, just two min. away. Take one of our many bikes to explore the Cape Cod Bike Trail nearby. Chatham shopping and dining at the many seafood restaurants will make your week by the sea a visit to remember for family, friends, couples! Forest Sands Cottage has been in our family since 1956, that's 4 generations! We've been sharing our house near the beach with family, friends, and guests for more than a decade, and we pride ourselves on providing the simple New England comforts that have made Cape Cod famous. Our pine paneled interiors, full kitchen, 2 baths and outdoor shower open onto yards and woods that give visitors privacy, but access to nearby beaches, shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions. The entire Cottage and property are available to our guests, including the terrace, woods, and garage, with clothes washer and drier. Only the attics and housekeeping closet in rear bathroom are off-limits. The garage also provides access to bikes, beach umbrellas and chairs, floats and toys. I am sometimes "off-Cape," but have agents nearby to assist you, and I am available 24/7 by phone, text, or email. Forest Beach was originally a 1950's "beach colony", and is a unique neighborhood of older single-story cottages along with newer "Cape-style" homes. We value our community of neighbors and friends, with a shared sense of attachment to the Beach and the Sea. Parking is abundant in Chatham town and commercial areas in general. Parking at the house is up to 4 vehicles and overnight street parking is also permitted. Local bus lines run on a regular schedule from Hyannis to Chatham along Rt. 28, within 1/2 mile of our property. DURING YOUR STAY: • We especially request that you limit the number of people present while you are at the house to your immediate group or family only, and that you not invite additional persons to visit the house or grounds, so please, no picnics, bar-b-cues, or parties. • We are also requesting that you limit the number of vehicles parked in the driveway to no more than 3, and refrain from street parking, especially overnight. BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE: • Please strip all beds, and place bed linens and towels in washing machine (in the garage) with detergent, set dial to “regular” cycle/ “hot” water, and pull to run. Please leave second or third loads in the hamper. Thanks! • Please place all household trash in black garbage bags (provided), and recyclable materials in blue or clear ones (provided). Bags are under the kitchen sink. Gather all together by metal trash can in the garage- we are happy to take it from there. Safe trip home!
