Hen House Cottage is a private residence situated near the San Marcos River in Martindale, Texas, a quaint town known for its tight-knit community, interesting personalities and scenic views. With a full kitchen, modern amenities (high speed internet, cable television) and enough room to accommodate four guests comfortably, Hen House Cottage is the perfect headquarters for an extended expedition into the many wonders of Central Texas, a haven for souls who enjoy river life and recreation. Hen House Cottage is approximately 500 ft.² with a daybed with trundle in the living room and a full size bed in the bedroom. All mattresses are memory foam. The kitchen has a microwave, full-size refrigerator, Keurig coffee-maker, French press, toaster, and four burner stove with oven. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower. The yard is almost half an acre, fenced that is shared with the main house and some of the tallest Pecan trees in Martindale. There are numerous sitting areas, including a private, fenced courtyard/patio off the kitchen. The property faces fields on two sides and has tall bamboo along the fence line creating added privacy. The entire cottage is available to guests. There are shared outdoor spaces that both the owner and guests may use at the same time. The owner lives on-site with her family. Someone is always available to help or to ask about local attractions. Martindale is a sleepy, little town that sometimes has interesting market days and other events such as, the chili-cookoff, 4th of July parade, and Texas Water Safari viewing. Martindale River Café and Mercantile is also within walking distance of the cottage with live music most weekends. Hwy 80 Feed Barn is also located within a mile of HH Cottage. They feature burgers and fried catfish. Good Things Grocery downtown likely has everything you need but if not there is also a Dollar General, gas station, and taco truck very close by There are numerous places to rent a kayak or toob to explore the San Marcos River. Both Uber and Lyft are recommended if you'd like to enjoy the San Marcos night-life. Both downtown Martindale and the river are within walking distance of the cottage. A pet for of $65 is required for furry friends.
