Enjoy the picturesque view at Over the Moon Farm, a bustling horse farm situated in the middle of 30 acres in Covington, LA north of New Orleans. A short drive from the farm will take you to Abita Springs, a quaint town with restaurants and the Abita Brewery, Old Covington filled with local shops and restaurants and several horse facilities nearby. Spend the day touring in New Orleans and unwind in the evenings relaxing on one of two porches overlooking horses grazing in the pasture. The house has beautiful views from all of the rooms. Guests are encouraged to walk around the property outside of the horse paddocks. There is a cluster of swings with a small fire pit in the middle for your use on the property. The house is comfortably furnished with a TV in the living room and WIFI available in all of the rooms. The master bedroom has views from both sides and a sliding glass door that opens onto the deck. It has a seating area and a large master bath. The bedroom near it is filled with antiques and has a half bath across the hallway. The two other bedrooms are located on the other side of the house and share a bathroom. There is a large dining table in the kitchen which opens onto the deck. The kitchen is fully loaded with granite countertops. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. Owner lives nearby and is available most of the time. When out of town there is someone in charge of the farm that can answer any questions. The small town of Folsom is located within 5 miles. There is a small but nice grocery store called Main's Grocery that can handle all of your needs. Visit the adorable coffee shop, Giddy Up for an array of coffees and teas, Core Feed Store is filled with plants and local products and Gus's Restaurant has good country food. Lagniappe Equestrian Center, Oakhill Farms, Amen Corner Equestrian Center and Serenity Equestrian Center are located nearby. The Global Wildlife Center is located a short drive away. Also nearby is the Bogue Chitto State Park which has tubing, kayaking, and horseback riding. The is a strictly non-smoking non-vaping home and facility. Guests are not allowed to smoke in the house nor are they allowed to smoke on the porches or on the grounds. Guests ignoring this rule will be fined $250.00. All of the bedding and towels in the house are new. Please treat our furnishings as you would your own. Do not remove your make up with any of the towels or use towels to wipe up spills. There are paper towels provided in the house. You will be asked for replacement cost for any bedding item, pillow shams, towels, throws and furnishings that are found stained.
