The beaches are quiet, unspoilt & un-developed but fabulous beach bar/restaurants are dotted along the sand, so our guests are never too far away from freshly cooked fish or a cooling sundowner! The villa’s enviable location also provides a breath-taking panoramic vista of the Caribbean Sea, Lower Bay beach, stunning Admiralty Bay and the surrounding pristine natural forest. So relax, take a deep breath... you have found a very heavenly spot! The island’s beaches, bars & restaurants are within striking distance, yet The Lookout’s quiet, hillside setting allows guests to relax & rejuvenate in peace & tranquillity. Wake up feeling refreshed, soak up the incredible views from your private deck & sip on your morning coffee – pure bliss! Bequia is just 7 square miles in size and The Lookout is centrally located which means leg power is a free & rewarding way to get from A to B. The islands best two beaches area mere 5 minute walk away and the main town of Port Elizabeth & the bars/restaurants of the Belmont Walkway are a leisurely 20 minute stroll or just 5 minutes by taxi. The main road doesn’t have pavements (sidewalks) but, with care, it’s possible to walk along any road as even the main island road can be deserted at times. We provide 2x mobile phones, umbrellas & torches. Transport options on Bequia are fun and generally inexpensive. The open-sided taxis offer a breezy and exhilarating ride and can be booked for short trips to the beach or a restaurant or why not book one for a personalised island tour. The dollar vans are equally fun & cost just $1EC…….but you have to share your ride with others. The bus will keep stopping and filling up with people and you may find someone sat on your lap by the end of the trip so it’s a great way to integrate and make new friends! Jeep hire costs around $50US per day and will give you freedom to roam the island at your leisure. The ferries shuttle back & forth from Bequia to St. Vincent daily starting at 6.30am and take less than an hour. At times, the ride can be choppy so bear this in mind if you’re are prone to motion sickness! Finally, this is a friendly island. It is not unusual for locals to stop and offer you a lift to town if they see you walking on the roadside. Our advice? Take up the offer and make a new friend!
