And while it's only a 10-min walk to the Shaw metro and a mere 2.1 miles from the White House (read: city center!), it offers you a quiet respite after an adventurous day exploring our nation's capital. Ideal location for those attending conferences at the Convention Center, Howard University parents and alum, and lovers of charming neighborhoods (including nearby Bloomingdale)! This basement unit offers you privacy and a quiet setting with natural light in the living space/dining area, comfortably outfitted for relaxing with a glass of wine or a meal in. You'll be able to come and go as you please, have quick access to the metro (12 min walk) and be near a number of great restaurants (many of which have outdoor seating). The private entrance to the unit is through the back of the house and you will enter through the bedroom. You'll have access to your separate thermostat, a spa shower with jets in the attached bath, and an extremely comfortable bed! The bedroom has a closet-turned-office space that offers ample space for your luggage and belongings and a work desk. The kitchenette is complete with a Nespresso (coffee included!), a hot water kettle, microwave, and a stove top. It's fully furnished with an attached mini bar that includes complementary beverages. A full size fridge/freezer is in the unit in case you're stocking up! The unit has two outdoor spaces available for your use. The first is the backyard (through which you'll enter). There is a patio set and two chairs on the deck. At the front of the house is a bistro set with seating for two. It's a great place to have a beverage and people watch! Note that the outdoor space is shared with me! Please note that get to the unit you need to go down about 6 steps. Therefore, my unit is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. You will have access to the patio area where there is seating and a gas fire pit along with a bistro set on the deck and in the front of the house. Outdoor space is shared (with me). The entire 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit is yours with no other guests and complete privacy. I live upstairs and am available if you have questions or need suggestions! LeDroit Park is known for its history and 19th century protected architecture. The neighborhood is a walkers paradise and offers ample restaurants, bars, and nightlife nearby. Welcome! The Shaw metro is a 10-12 minute walk and will take you to all parts of DC. It's quite easy to catch an uber or lyft. Note, when calling for a rideshare, you can request that they pick you up in the back of the house, or simply come around the house to pick it up in the front. When ordering food delivery, you can have it sent to the main address and pick it up in the front. The bus stops less than one block away! There are many new guests on AIRBNB, which is so great!
