Located on the outer island of Vieques 10 miles southeast of the main island. Luxury villa offers spectacular ocean views and modern accommodations with 5 deluxe bedrooms on 2 ocean-view levels. Located on the north shore of Vieques and near the end of the road in a very quiet neighborhood. The patios and beautiful pool overlook the turquoise sea. To the east you can see the Vieques wildlife reserve and St. Thomas Island, to the north Culebra & to the west the main island of Puerto Rico. Two ocean-view levels - each has a fully-equipped kitchen, two flat-screen TVs and wi-fi. All 5 bedrooms have split-unit, quiet air conditioners and there is a washer/dryer on premises. Sleeps up to 10 people. The nightly rate is based on 8 guests. Each additional guest over 8 there will have an additional $50 per person per night. Beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and towels are all available for your daily adventures. There is patio with a large gas grill in the grassy yard, which is surrounded by gorgeous hibiscus hedges. Bastimento Beach is a 3 minute walk from the house. Guests have the entire villa and the grounds all to themselves. The grounds include a lovely pool and a separate, charming BBQ/grill patio. Only the lower level is wheelchair accessible. I manage the property but do not live on the premises. I will meet you at your car/golf cart rental agency. I will then lead you to the villa (pointing out grocery store, restaurants, etc. along the way) and provide an orientation to Hilltop Hacienda. Throughout your stay I will be available to answer any questions about the villa or the island or resolve any issues that come up. Hilltop Hacienda is located on the north shore of Vieques very close to the end of the road. It is a very quiet and safe neighborhood. The views from the villa are breathtaking! To the east you can see the NWS Wildlife Refuge & St. John's Island; to the north is Culebra Island and to the west is the main island of Puerto Rico. Beautiful Bastimento beach is a 5 minute walk from villa. You will definitely want to rent a car while on Vieques. You can rent a golf cart but I would suggest a car. There are frequent rain showers and being in a golf cart is no fun in a tropical down pour. There are taxi services as well that will take you anywhere on the island. There is always a breeze at Hilltop Hacienda so mosquitoes are not a big issue. However, repellent is available in every store and I provide citronella torches, etc. Horses wander through the 'hood constantly and, though they may appear hungry and thirsty, please do NOT put water out or food for them. There a spots all over the island where they can get fresh water. Bring water shoes down to Bastimento beach, especially if you're night swimming. Several pairs are provided in different sizes. Do not cross the reef barrier, which would require you to step on it. It is coral and dies when touched.
