Nothing is shared with the upper floor apartment except laundry which is located in the shared entry. Thanks to very effective sound insulation, you won't hear them and they won't hear you. Close to great coffee houses, restaurants and all Ballard has to offer. A detailed renovation was completed in 2008 in keeping with the home's original character. Wide plank oak floors extend throughout, including the new kitchen. Guests can chat with the chef while sitting at the breakfast table. The main dining room can seat six and has bay windows that look out on the roses. What makes this space unique is how much is feels like a complete house. The rooms are gracious and harken back to the turn of the last century when it was built. You feel the history of the house and gardens. We have many guests who call this their second home and return year after year. Working from here? This house has high-speed fiber optic internet dedicated to this apartment. You will have access to the entire apt.; it is all for our guests. You have access to the yard area off the kitchen where there is a brick patio with table and chairs. We don't live on the premises but are just a mile away and are happy to come to the apt. if needed. We like to meet our guests but sometimes they are so busy having fun, we don't get to meet. There are so many great restaurants, coffee houses, music venues and grocery stores within a few blocks. Ballard is known as an exciting and fun place to be. The apt. is a few blocks away from several bus lines that serve downtown Seattle and other parts of the city. Light rail can be accessed by taking a bus downtown or going east to the University of Washington rail stop. Uber and Lift operate in the city as well as taxi cabs. The Burke Gilman bike trail begins in Ballard and goes east to the U of Washington and north to Redmond. We provide parking for one car on the north side of the property off the alley behind the garage.
