The kitchen is furnished with a fridge/freezer (w/ice maker) and a gas oven/range. You’ll find dinnerware, cooking and kitchen supplies, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and fryer. Books and games are tucked into the living room along with the TV/DVD player. The Hot Springs bath across the street awaits when you're ready for a soak. You might catch us working in the garden out front, or taking care of (quiet) chores in the shop next door. Forget-Me-Not Cottage is located in the heart of downtown Tenakee, between the ferry and float plane docks. The downtown location means you're near all local services like mail, market, cafe and museum, yet surrounded by the nature of the Tongass Forest and the marine life of Tenakee Inlet. Relax on the deck and watch life unfold in small town Alaska. Look for seals, sea lions, orcas or humpback whales cruising the waters. View bald eagles and great blue herons hunting for food along the shore. Out the back windows you might catch deer grazing, or spot the occasional bear snitching berries. Enjoy hiking the trails nearby, or, skirt the edge of the beach at low tide where shore crabs, sculpins, sea stars and anemones hide out. Tenakee's Store, Post Office, Museum and bath house are all a stone's throw away. Trails and beaches are within walking distance also. Our local library is a quick five minute walk. Bring a bike, or enjoy a hike.
