Looking for unparalleled privacy? Come to awesome cabin in e the woods. It’s comfy and has everything you need. Plus, it’s powered by renewable energy, so you can feel good with our planet while enjoying the good life. We have Starlink, perfect for long stays and work from home. Don’t just stay in the cabin, there's tons of fun outside: from hiking and tubing to eating and horseback riding. You’ll never get bored, we promise. We can help with your plans. *There could be bugs as it is located in the middle of the tropical woods" My cabin was designed by the great and only: me! Pamela. This is the space I always dreamed of and it’s been an evolution: I just recently added bug-nets for the windows, thermal insulation + ceiling, new pans, dishes, and a total refurbished new amazing kitchen. All powered by the sun’s rays, of course. The home is furnished with a sofa bed in the first floor, a folding table (might not be the most comfortable, but it is the most convenient, and you can take it outside as long as it is not raining). Second floor has an amazing queen bed, which everyone loves and space for you to put stuff around. We’ll let you play rock, papers, scissors on who sleeps where (bwaha-ha) Optimal number of guests would be 1-3 people, but we can fit 4 if you are willing to squeeze! - keep in mind this is a tiny house design. But hey, less space means more coziness. My design includes BIG WINDOWS everywhere you look at. I love windows and I accept I have a problem… but they are pretty cool. They let in lots of natural light and fresh air. And they make you feel like you’re living in a giant solar panel. I offer books, because I believe we can make this world better… board game because I believe in having fun and a bench for you to sit outside to watch the stars because I believe in wishing upon stars (I don’t really, but it sounds nice, right)? If you don’t like places without other buildings or people living super close, this might not be the best fit, but I surely will have an alternative waiting for you. I am 100% percent invested in making your time be the best it can be. I’m open to dialogue and my objective is to be the best host you can find. And I’m not just saying that because I’m solar-powered. Okay - let’s get this one out of the way: road is a little bumpy. But I can SWEAR that your car will not get stuck on any road, not even if it is a sedan. Because I like helping the world (and fast cars) I have a Mini Cooper SE that I take to the cabin full of heavy stuff all the time (+ 2 dogs and 2 cats) and I’ve never run into any trouble (there’s a photo with it at the cabin in the photos section). I do recommend you drive slow when you enter the ballast streets if your car is not 4x2, but I also promise you that the drive is totally worth it, other guests think the same in the comments, trust them. I’ve had guests who want to stay forever, seriously… I live in San Jose, but I have the best support network: my parents live nearby, our cleaning person is available for any emergencies and we have the most amazing repair person in town a call away. I pride myself as master of the most awe-inspiring tours in the vicinity. And here's the icing on the cake: prices are unbeatable compared to other popular destinations in Costa Rica, such as Guanacaste and La Fortuna. We will pay for 1 cleaning service per week (2 hours) for stays of 2 weeks and longer (i.e stay 3 weeks and a cleaning person will arrive the first Saturday and the second one) I am always reachable via chat and I'm ready-willing and able! Welcome to "El Pilon"! This charming town is only 4 minutes away from the Tenorio Volcano National Park, so get ready for an adventure full of fun and natural beauty! What makes "El Pilon" even more special is its vibrant community, full of kind and hospitable people who will welcome you with open arms! From sharing their knowledge about the area and local traditions, to engaging in ecotourism and nature conservation activities, these residents are truly committed to caring for the natural environment! Did you also know that most of the small businesses and enterprises in "El Pilon" are owned by women? (out cabin included) From small grocery stores to restaurants and tourist guide companies, these women are doing incredible things. Supporting these local businesses is an excellent way to contribute to the local economy and ensure an authentic and truly local experience. In short, "El Pilon" is much more than just a tourist destination. It is a place where you can connect with the local people and culture, and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding this beautiful Costa Rican town. We welcome you with open arms for an unforgettable experience! To reach the location easily you can travel via Cañas (Guanacaste) by searching in Waze "Escuela el Pilón" (Alajuela) 300 meters or 0.2 miles you will have to turn left to a ballast street. If you decide to travel via San Carlos, then 400 meters or 0.25 miles you will have to turn right, to a ballast street. From there you must continue for 500 meters or 1/5 a mile until you reach the school, then turn left and continue for 2 kilometers or 1.25 miles until you reach the cabin to your left. You will pass a house with a Milking Spot (where these is made) and you will continue down that road. Please note that there is nothing but the cabin around. Great experiences are waiting for you: - 300 mts from an artesanal cheese tour, includes food - 800 mts from horseback riding tours - 1km from tubing/horseback riding tours - 1.6km from a Tilapia fishing spot - 3.2km from the National Park, canopy, etc We run on solar energy and it has it’s own capacity - please do not connect any hair dryers, hair iron or clothes iron to the grid as you may bring it down. STARLINK IS AVAILABLE NOW!!! - you can now enjoy unlimited downloads and a really stable and fast connection in the cabin! If you want to have a long stay and need to wash clothes, we can get that fixed for you, and if you stay for 2 or more weeks we’ll send you someone to clean every week (once a week for 3 hours) Oh, and did I mention that the cabin is pet-friendly? So bring your furry friends along for the adventure! Let them run free and experience the great outdoors with you. I also have other Airbnbs in Río Celeste, Poás (close to the volcano), Curridabat and Escazú. Some are close to the airport, be sure to check them out.
