This is a wonderful ocean front cottage w/ a kitchen and 'a beautiful Hawaiian' ocean view. Kehena Beach ( bathing suit optional) is across the street Whales & Dolphins can often be seen off the coast from the lanai during winter months. This cottage has a FULL kitchen w/ the amenities that you would expect. You get a phone w/ free long distance, 1 gps Fioptic WiFi for those workers on the go and Roku/ Netflix and air conditioning in bedroom which for your sleeping comfort. Come swim with the dolphins at Kehena Black Sand Beach! (Whales in winter months) Aloha ! This is a great place to stay! Find out why this cottage is the best kept secret in Puna. The Whale House is located in one of the most beautiful places on earth - Kehena Beach on The Big Island of Hawaii. It is the closest unit to Kehena Beach on Kalapana-Kapoho Rd (aka) The Red Road. It has 1 bedroom w/ queen bed & full bathroom, a sofa bed that can sleep two (smaller framed) people in the living room. The Whale House does have a FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN, a lanai, washer & dryer, free 1 GPS Fioptic WI-FI internet , land line w/ free long distance , Roku/ YouTube 2 flat screen TV’s, CD , refrigerator. There is an beautiful ocean view from the living room and lanai, including the bathroom. If you are interested in Yoga, we are situated in between two world famous Yoga Centers located here on 'The Red Road'. Many people come to Hawaii to visit Volcano National Park - home of Kilauea and the periodic lava flows just a short distance from us. There are also Hawaiian jungles, tropical rain forests, beautiful coastal views, snorkeling, whale watching w/ dolphins that migrate to the warm Hawaiian waters from Alaska. You can often see them from our lanai off our beautiful coast - in the Kehena Beach area. Many of my tenants have told us that they were able to swim w/ the dolphins and you can too! This is the place for water lovers - you should see the spectacular ocean view & sunrise over the south pacific from our lanai - where you may want to eat your breakfast!! Whales and Dolphins can often be seen from the lanai during winter months. For those of you who are seeking night time entertainment, check out 'Uncles Outdoor Hawaii Bar' if you want to sip a beer, listen to live Hawaiian music, eat great food and enjoy a farmers market at the same time. (when available again) A health food buffet is just 1.2 miles away and the Kalapana Café & Uncles is just 3 miles from us. The Whale House is also near Pohoiki Point (Isaac Hale Park now open to public accessible by car and Kapoho Beach which can be hiked to. Compare our rates to those in Kona. We are the green side of the island without all the rain in Hilo. In addition, Volcanoes National Park is just a 45-60 minute drive from here and there is a recent lava flow 10 minutes from us and it is free to see. This is a great home base to see all the sites in Puna, yet far enough away from the rainy parts on this side of the island. You are also close to the lava fields, Pohoiki black sand family beach and thermal ponds, coastal tide pools, snorkeling, fishing areas, Akaka Falls, Kahuna and Rainbow Falls, Boiling Pots, hiking, Farmers Market (1/2 block away), Space Community Arts Center, Keck Observatory, Kilauea , Uncles Bamboo Tiki Bar w/ live music, cafes, food markets, Volcanoes Nat'l Park and so much more - are just 10-45 minutes away. My mission is to make sure that you have what you need to make your visit a happy, and memorable experience ! This is also a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Many people come to Kehena Beach to 'get away from it all and breath clean air, eat great food, soak up the sunshine, exercise, commune with nature, and meet some wonderful people. So come and find out 'what the aloha spirit really is'. We invite you to come (URL HIDDEN) truly is one of the most beautiful places on earth. You will love this place - picture yourself sitting on the lanai w/ the sound of waves crashing on the cliffs below while gazing at the South Pacific through ocean front coconut trees that are swaying w/ the Hawaiian trade winds. This is truly the Hawaii that you dream about. Call Andre to inquire. We rent 'well maintained bikes too (includes helmet and lights). Lava tree state park, Pahoa town & lava fiels and hiking areas, Kalapana trail over lava flow to black sand beach, Volcanoes Nat'l Park (Kilauea, Thurston Lava Tube & Tour of Chain of Craters Road There is the Hele-on bus that passes by our cottages 3x/day at $1.00.
