The apartment is very charming warm and friendly. There is a full bathroom. The living room also has a dedicated work space desk with surge protector outlet. There is an extra roll away bed used when more than one person is staying in the Apartment (remember there is a charge for all overnight guests so please book accordingly). The roll away bed is adult "cot" size 79"L x 31.5"W x 16.5"H . Both the standard size twin bed and the smaller roll away are very comfortable both have supportive memory foam mattresses (more on the firm side) and both beds are not wired springs but instead have real suspended wooden slats under the mattress, so they are supportive and comfortable. The kitchen is its own separate room with lots of storage and pots and pans. The kitchen has a four burner gas stove, a microwave, large capacity flash fryer convection combo toaster oven, and a coffeemaker. The memory foam twin bed on the medium firm side, It is supported on a bed with wooden slats, which is more comfortable than springs. Everyone reports they like the bed. The apartment has blazingly fast speed wifi. The small 24" smart TV gets local HDTV reception and ROKU smart streaming functions. Many channels for free, or you can access you netflix account or whatever streaming services you use. Off street parking in the now gated parking lot (the gate will open automatically for your vehicle, just drive up within 2 feet and it will open and there is a sensor for it to open for exit as well). This has always been a safe location, however to keep uninvited foot traffic, or solicitors off the property and for more privacy we have now installed an automatic gate. There is also now outdoor picnic table and more outdoor furniture, and for the hotter months in summertime we now have installed a cooling mist sprinkler system under the covered porch areas in front of most of the apartments for keeping cool and comfortable when lounging outside Guest's main access is to the Apartment, the walkways in front of the apartments and the parking lot. Guests also have access to picnic table outside, the backyard, and the covered outdoor coin laundry facility. (it's uncommon to have laundry machines outside so airbnb website did not give the right wording choice for describing in that section) These coin-operated laundry machines are under a canopy on the eastern side of the property by the driveway of the main house. (Protective water pipe heaters to make them fully operational all year round.) There is also a house acrross the parking lot from the airbnb apartments. That house is private so please do not knock on the house's doors. Please first message through airbnb when you need anything and I will come to your door. If you cannot reach me in a message, then please call me at the number provided by airbnb and also posted in the apartment. Thank you! I am often off site, and although I would love to make your acquaintance, when I am on site I might not have time to interface with you. When you book your stay I will send you a message to see if there is a specific key code you like for me to program in the electronic lock. I am very diligent with checking messages so message me with any questions or concerns. Since there are multiple apartments on the property, sometimes there are other Airbnb guests or tenants in the other units who might want privacy, so please be courteous in interacting with others on the property (and also follow the house rules regarding keeping noise down). Everyone on the property has agreed to the house rules. I (the main host Joshua) is sometime on the property and sometimes traveling. When traveling we have a cohost in town who can help in maintenance situations or emergencies. His number is in this airbnb list and if I am away and you message me I will get a hold of him ASAP. I sometime check in guests and show them around, but other times when not around or busy I let guests self check in. There are clear instruction on Airbnb and in the apartment on how to operate everything. For the most part the operation of the appliances in the apartment is very straight forward. So Guests have had no problems checking in themselves. I always double check my Airbnb messages on your check in day. (I do appreciate if you share the estimated check in time your planning to arrive when possible) I usually respond very quickly to Airbnb messages. Airbnb messages through the messenger is the best way to reach me, especially for non emergency situations. I find guests some guests like to keep to themselves and some guests like to be more social and sometimes like to get to know me more. I really love to connect with guests when I can, but it depends, because sometimes the timing is not great for that. For this reason I also like to share the properties website and other information with the guest (however unfortunately because the airbnb website itself does not allow me to post a links in this listing, I share that in printed form). Anyway that website Depending on my availability airbnb guests should not expect a lot of in person or social interactions with me (the main host Joshua). Unless there is immediate emergency maintenance we assume you do not want to be disturbed and leave you in full privacy. Unless it is an emergency, we always give airbnb guests at least 24 hours or more notice if any repairs or access to the unit is needed by myself or maintenance people. I usually respond very quickly to Airbnb messages. I prefer Airbnb messages as primary communications (for non emergency situations) with guests. Even when I am on the property please in non emergencies first message me through airbnb. That being said for important matters that are urgent you can also call the phone number associated with this account. So primary contact is airbnb and as a backup call the number on this airbnb account. Live phone calls ring my voip phones around the property and are the best way to get a quick response during an actual emergency. Please note: If you see me working with other people on the property I might be paying people by the hour or in time oriented agreements with workers and they should be able to focus on the work they have at hand. Please therefore be be mindful to try not interact with people who might be doing such work in a way that delay or interrupt them. So this can be people like contractors, handyman or handywoman or work traders while they are on their shifts working on the property. The above guidelines are needed but that being said there are ways in longer terms stays we naturally might connect more socially and this has happened with other airbnb guests. These guidelines do not mean we are unfriendly or uncaring. The reason this section is in airbnb listings is because it helps give the guests and hosts clearer ideas of what to expect based on the lifestyles going on. It used to be called Hot Springs and there are many low priced spas and places to soak. We are in a central location very close walking distance to shops and spas, yet we are on a very quiet, peaceful street. Walk to the Geronimo Museum, the Historic El Cortez movie theater. Turtleback Mountain is the main view out your window and is a wonderful place to hike. We have many parks along the Rio Grand which runs through town and people go tubing in the river. The historic Elephant Butte dam is a beautiful site where one can see the Elephant Butte Island. The town of Elephant Butte and Elephant Butte lake state park is also nearby and just a 15-20 minute drive. The state park is a great place for swimming and boating with beaches, water sports. We have nice weather almost all year round as we are still in a good bit of elevation from sea level and due to the landscape and location, we have nice breezes in the summer and low humidity, making this town more comfortable than some others in the lower south west, during the warmest months. We are also not far from the Gila Wilderness and Gila National Forest which are the in their own unique climate zone and the Gila Mountains have small towns and many special places to visit. The people who live here love nature and we we treasure our town and our unique environment. Many things in the town are within walking distance of this location, or just a short drive I can put an extra cot in the apartment if that helps create the best accommodation for more than one person. Please remember if you book with more than one person there is an extra charge per night per extra person. When booking you need to choose the number in your party. (Please do not book for just one person and show up with two people. I only write this here because it has happened in the past and created misunderstandings) Thank you. We allow nightly weekly and monthly stays. If you are wanting to stay longer and see in our calendar one day blocked out, please message us. We might have it blocked out simply because one day a month we are simply not available to help check someone in on that day so we block it on the calendar, however we could allow a continuous stay meaning if you were already checked in and staying continuously we could definitely accommodate you on those days. so please simply message us if you want to see if we can accommodate the dates you would like. For some reason Airbnb puts the words 1 bedroom, 1 bath, under the listing title, however as you can see in the pictures the bedroom and living room are together in one space. for safety and security the parking lot and outdoor common areas of the property has 24 hour video and audio surveillance cameras.
