Lovely 1850's farmhouse with lots of natural light, woodstove, and great book collection nestled on 2 acres along a pretty rural road. Comfortable, peaceful, & convenient. Perfect for a writing/artistic retreat, romantic getaway, or family gathering. Fantastic 2 acre yard with giant maple trees & gardens. There are two desks and a large dining table plus great wifi (xfinity) for remote work. Host is a 5-college professor with local knowledge and suggestions. The space is full of charm but comfortable and friendly-feeling. Enjoy the wide plank pumpkin pine floors and many other original touches. Fully stocked kitchen opens to the dining room, with a big table for gatherings. Lots of great board games, card games and classic books, plus fast wifi. You can possibly garage a car too, if desired. Bikes and kayaks can be borrowed with prior arrangement. You'll have full access to the house with exception of a small locked-off storage space. My top priority is to make sure you have what you need while also giving you privacy to enjoy your stay. I am usually in the area and can greet you, but at times I am traveling. Either way, I'll be sure you can reach me, or someone else who can help answer any questions you may have. I've lived in the area for over a decade and will happy to offer suggestions. True country setting but very close to our sweet college town. Enjoy our huge yard with gardens and a few outbuildings, plus private woods to explore. Setting is a pretty country road surrounded by fields and a mix of vintage homes. Horse properties up the road make a nice destination for an evening or early morning stroll. You can also walk or make a short drive to many beautiful hikes in the area. You'll need a car but you're just a 5 minute drive to downtown Amherst with easy access to the Five Colleges and surrounding area. Within just a mile or two you will find a coffee shop/local market wonderful hiking trails, bike path, and other outdoor destinations. Within 15-20 minutes you can reach top notch shopping at Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, Eastern Mtn Sports, Trader Joe's, LL Bean... Northampton and the Connecticut River. This is a rural location with a real country feel to the house, but you're 5 minutes to town. The TV has Roku with access to many popular networks but I do not have regular channels for surfing. I've added a microwave and a new set of cookware for guests to enjoy.
