This cozy apartment is located in the center of Vedado, across the University of Havana, near 23rd Avenue, Napoleon Museum and the city nightlife. You will have total privacy and a great base to go around and discover the magic of Havana! We are all fluent in English and will love to help with anything you may need before and during your trip. Unique features: Purified water available, for a fee. Internet WIFI, for a fee. The apartment has comfortable furniture, that guarantees a nice stay. There's a wide double bed in the bedroom for two people, and the sofa bed in the hall allows two more people. The place is very quiet, with simple deco, and nice views. The apartment is supplied with hot/cold water supply 24 hours. A unique extra: we have a supply of purified water 19L bottles at the apartment available for our guests, and a hot/cold water dispenser. Let us know if you want to purchase one or more bottles for your stay. This is very convenient so you don't need to worry about buying and carry water around. The apartment has hall after the entrance, equipped kitchen (refrigerator, range, microwave, coffeepot, rice pan, etc.), a wonderful balcony for breakfasts or meals, bedroom (equipped with AC), and a bathroom (24 hours hot/cold water), and it is equipped with a washing machine. It's an independent apartment, so the guests can make total use of the spaces, furniture and equipment of the accommodation. Mercy, our manager of the apartment, will be there for the check in. She is part of our team, fluent in English, and will help with anything you might need. The guests will obtain the keys once they reach the apartment. During the stay the guests can contact me or any member of our support team (we all speak fluent English) for anything you need. All the necessary contacts are given to the guests when they arrive. If the guests request it, we can arrange taxi from and for the Airport. The housemaid who makes the cleaning of the house and change towels and sheets, comes with three day intervals (she has keys, so don´t break any plans waiting for her!). In the case of late check-in (guest arriving 9:00pm or later): the manager will collect a one time fee of 10 USD in cash during the check in to cover extraordinary transportation costs at late night. Vedado is one of the most important neighborhoods in Havana, and probably the most desirable location for living right now in the city. As it is the center of the nightlife and other cultural attractions, it attracts a lot of people (Cubans and foreigners) that gather around the several core areas. It's a very interesting place, as the space is shared by early last century mansions, elegant buildings from the '50s, modern/overcrowded family houses (some time as the result of the split/modification of former fancy mansions) and the growing private small business sector. As in most of the rest of the city violence is nonexistent and you can freely walk around at any time of the day or night. You can find nearby groceries, bakery, bars, restaurants, banks, parking areas, and access to WIFI Internet. The neighborhood is also very convenient for reaching other important areas of the city in 10 minutes (like Habana Vieja or Miramar), as there are several routes of taxis and public transportation very close to the apartment. The amazing campus of the University of Havana is just across the street, and in the next corner you will find Napoleon's Museum (it gathers the second largest collection in the world). 23rd street, known as La Rampa, is the most important of Vedado and is 4 blocks close. You have very nice restaurants, bars, and disco-bars in the neighborhood. Some great places for eating or have a drink: Waoo!, El Biky, and Locos por Cuba (genuine Cuban food and very cheap!). Other good places in the neighborhood are El Cocinero, Cafe Laurent and Bonema. King Bar is a nice one to try, some other great places are Corner Café (good bands usually play there) and Berthold Brecht Theater (great for rock and fusion concerts!). Also, the apartment is 5 minutes close in a cab to Plaza de la Revolución (museum and mirador), to the Factory of Art (a must-try place in the city!), Sarao nightclub, and to the salsa parties that take place every Sunday at 1830 Restaurant. Another great thing is the Malecón: this seawall comes all along the city from the old town to the Almendares river, in the borders of Vedado. For years, the Malecón has been a place for locals and foreigners to go with their couples and friends, for meeting people, enjoy drinks and music, the sea view and breeze, fishing... There are several WIFI Internet spots a few blocks close to the apartment. You can park your car in the street beside the building for free, if you want an official parking area you can get the service for a fee very close to the apartment.
