You will absolutely love it here! Arrive at the Vintage Gem and instantly be transported to a modern twist on a vintage home. Almost every aspect of this home has been restored to breath fresh life into each space; while still preserving a bit of its original history and charm. As you drive down the charming and narrow one way street you will spot The Vintage Gem at the end of the street surrounded by an empty lot on each side, giving The Vintage Gem a sweet and intimate feel. Inside, the first floor has a semi-open floor plan which makes the space inviting and warm. Step into the large entry and hang your coat. You will immediately notice original hardwood floors installed over 100 years ago along with a vintage 1950's globe pendant light. To the right is the dining room and to the left is the staircase to the second floor. As you move into the dining room you will find a large dining table that can seat up to 8 and a stone fireplace. Although the fireplace is not a functioning fireplace the wood stuffed opening provides a gorgeous focal point and warm feeling. As you continue into the great room you can relax on the sofas or in our vintage recliner. watch a movie or play a game of clue with your family. The open kitchen faces the living room and is fully equipped with everything you need to cook or bake something delicious. There is a special coffee staton set up with all of our coffee lovers in mind. A Nespresso machine, french press, and traditional coffee maker are provided along with a few Nespresso pods, and flavored syrups to brew up a coffee shop worthy drink! Don't forget to pick up your favorite ground coffee or extra Nespresso pods if you are like us and find yourself drinking multiple cups a day! The mudroom at the back of the house has been converted into a small coffee shop lounge. Have a seat on the upholstered bench as you work on your laptop or browse through our 15 frame gallery wall displaying all of our favorite local spots. A beautifully updated powder room is located off the mudroom. Take a step outside the back door to enjoy a fire at our stone fire-pit under a canopy of string lights. As we move up the stairs you will come to a large stair landing complete with some beautiful hand picked antiques like the crystal lamp. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths on the second floor. Each room was specifically designed in jewel tones to play on "The Vintage Gem" theme. We have named each room and curated a design that feels luxurious yet cozy. No need to argue over rooms because every bedroom has a queen size bed and a plush memory foam mattress with soft white cotton sheets, 4 down alternative pillows, and a luxurious all season goose down duvet. We promise you will have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning! "The Sapphire Room" is the first bedroom on the right. This bedroom has a small desk and mirror perfect for doing work on your laptop or doing your hair and makeup. The sapphire room has a door joining it to "The Emerald Room" which is the primary bedroom. Complete with a vintage dresser, a full length mirror, and green vintage suitcases, this room is a true gem. The attached bathroom has a beautiful window and vintage sliding door. The bathroom has been newly updated with a fully tiled walk-in shower, two sinks in the vanity, and plenty of storage. If you are traveling with a little one, you can find a portable crib in the bathroom closet. Across from The Emerald Room is The Ruby Room. "The Ruby Room" was designed around a vintage upholstered bench we found at an antique shop right here in Kansas City. This room boasts royalty with its beautiful metal bed frame, luxe velvet draped wall, and exposed brick wall detail. The guest full bath is on this floor and holds a vintage clawfoot tub with a standard shower head so you can take a hot shower or soak in a bath. This bathroom has an updated vanity and a large capacity brand new washer and dryer which are available for use during your stay. One last floor! Watch your head and step as you make your way up this narrow wooden staircase to the final floor of The Vintage Gem. On this floor you will find "The Topaz room" to the left. This bedroom has a queen bed as well as a desk to read or work, and a full length mirror. To the right is our movie room. The movie room has 2 twin sized beds also with plush memory foam mattresses, cotton sheets, and goose down duvets. This room holds a comfy sofa chaise as well as 2 large ultra soft bean bags, a massive 75" TV and a vintage inspired microwave so you don't have to walk all the way downstairs to pop and smell your movie theatre butter popcorn! This floor has the last bathroom which is a small powder bath. Our home comfortably sleeps 10 guests with 2 guests in each queen bed and 1 guest in each twin bed. There is so much to do in Kansas City! here are a few attractions just a few minutes away from The Vintage Gem. All the houses local have extremely friendly neighbors. Next door is a lovely 90 year old woman who loves a friendly wave when walking in and out of the house. There are multiple walking distance stores, and so many parks close by. You will notice numerous 'modern' homes being built local to our house and across the street. Showing that this is a huge up and coming area. The home has a long drive way that can fit multiple parked cars. 4 cars with a likely chance of 5. There is also plenty of street parking if needed. It is also located directly next to a main street that zips you up and down the city extremely fast!
