Step outside and you'll find a fenced back yard with a covered patio and a firepit. Parking is not an issue with a shared driveway that leads to a parking pad and on-street parking is allowed in this area. Guests will have full access to the house. Check yourself in with a code on the door. There is a welcome book with additional information. However, I live in the area so if you need anything, I am only about 20 minutes away. The Cottage on Greene Street is located in the Olde Town Neighborhood in Downtown Augusta. Olde Town is the area between 5th Street and East Boundary, and from the River to the Cemeteries on Watkins Street. It was built in 1737 as the original neighborhood of Augusta and most of the buildings date from 1917-1920. Both Broad and Greene had streetcar tracks in between the lanes, which have now become linear parks. Measuring about 4 city blocks by 6 city blocks, the neighborhood is easily walkable in 10 minutes. Almost all the streets in Olde Town have sidewalks, and the median parks are filled with azaleas. The streets are lined with trees, and almost all homes have front porches, and anytime you go out you will run into your neighbors. A short bike ride will take you anywhere in Downtown Augusta and the Medical District. If you are headed downtown, you can get to anywhere in 15-minute walk. If you have a car you can travel to everywhere in Augusta within 30 minutes. Then of course, there’s Lyft and Uber. But if you are interested in a bicycle ride, there are a couple of places to rent bicycles, like the 5th Street Marina. Guests will not have access to the storage building in the back yard.
