Hale Laule'a at Opihi Point is a 5-acre private, multi-million dollar estate retreat completed March 2019. Hale Laule'a translates to "House of Peace" and our intention is for you to come here to rest, relax, and enjoy the most beautiful part of Hawaii, the Hamaku'a Coast. We have several inhouse programs that are optional to help you experience your own Hawaiian Celebration. We also host boutique celebrations or events on property up to 50 guests. Designed to be net-zero estate, Hale Laule'a is made of recycled and sustainable materials, makes its own electricity and water, and is working to grow most of its own food on site. The property includes the main house, Hale Laule’a, with back lanai and pool; the Carriage House with an apartment and barn; a micro orchard; a small animal area; multi-use areas; and multiple, private gardens including the spectacular lower garden surrounded 270 degrees by the ocean. The space for rent is the Ocean Suite, a luxury Bed and Breakfast room with private exterior entrance and has a two-night minimum and a four-night maximum stay. This suite can be booked alone for a personal celebration or milestone, or in conjunction with a Celebration/Horse/Leadership package at Hale Laule'a. For a Celebration such as a wedding, civil union, vow renewal, or special event, a beautiful 4-hour celebration package can be planned for up to 40 guests. A Leadership or Horse experience can be planned to meet your needs. We are a boutique, resort style, hi-end property suited for personal and small events and want to help you find your Ho'olaule'a, Hawaiian Celebration. The Ocean Suite is a two room suite looking out across the swimming pool onto the ocean. The suite has a pool front bedroom with sweeping ocean views, a den with separate sitting area, a private bath with bidet and rain shower, custom closet, and private entrance to the outside of the house. The den has a couch with coffee table and a 65" flat screen with theater surround sound. There is a small refrigerator, a Keurig coffee maker and microwave in the custom closet; there is no separate cooking facility, only a small space to reheat food to enjoy on the outdoor dining lanai. A laundry facility is located onsite and available to guest through a concierge service. Breakfast and juice are included every morning. Arrangements can be made if you would like to join us for our family evening meals. The 5-star resort style lodging will include concierge services. Just ask and we can provide it, acquire it, or book it; all will be taken care of for the duration of your stay. Here is what we provide with the suite: - Welcome tropical flower arrangement in room - Welcome Hawaiian chocolates - Stocked in-room beverage station with coffee, drinks, and snacks (Alcohol is not provided) - Breakfast for 2 every morning - Use of estate pool and gardens for the duration of your stay - 1 hour guided tour and history of Hawaii, Hakalau Sugar Plantation, and Hale Laule'a gardens - Spa Under the Stars - Star gazing from upper garden (weather permitting) - Guided walking access to Hakalau beach park with Beach Chairs - Ability to book horse, land or water experience sessions during your stay - Ability to host celebrations on the property While staying at the Ocean Suite, a typical day would start by drinking a cup of coffee or tea watching the most beautiful sunrise on the Pacific Ocean from your bed, the lower garden, or pool deck of Hale Laule'a. After coffee, go on a 2 mile round trip walk to Hakalau Beach Park taking in views of Mauna Kea, waterfalls and lush tropical plants. When you arrive to the beach, it will most likely be all yours as you explore the ruins of an old sugar plantation and look in amazement of the natural beauty of Hawaii. Once back, you can jump into the pool for a refreshing swim in the 25-meter lap lane or play a game of volleyball in the sports area of the pool. When done, settle into the lower garden on Hale Laule'a with a good book or do Yoga or meditation session in any of our four gardens. After lunch, walk the gardens, visit the farmers market, or arrange for an optional inhouse experience. During the winter months, watch the whales frolic right off the property. At night, enjoy the back lanai of the main house by the fireplace, or get into the spa and watch the stars unfold. For privacy, head to the lower garden and sit by yourself surrounded by the ocean on three sides with waves crashing on the rocks below as you drift away to another world in one of the most beautiful spots on this earth. Anything you want is possible and arrangements can be made with the host. Additional activity arrangements for guests can be made by host to include Horse Experience, a Land Experience or a Water Experience. For special occasions, guests can arrange for private parties such as weddings or other intimate events. Your stay can be a relaxing visit to enjoy the good life, or customized to meet your needs and desires. Packages can be customized to celebrate a special event. We can do weddings, civil unions, vow renewals, celebrations of life or any special event you want to celebrate... private chef-prepared dinners in the shade garden looking at the ocean under the stars, champagne in the hot tub, private dinner on a secluded point in the Pacific Ocean, private yoga sessions, life coaching, personality inventory and analysis, leadership training through our exclusive horse experience program called EAGLE, scuba diver training, guided hikes, and other activities. Message us and we will work it out. To start your process, pick your dates the room with a description of your celebration / leadership needs / or desire for an equine experience. The cost is for the room's nightly rate. There is a minimum of 2 nights and a maximum of 4 night stay. We have a very flexible cancellation policy so you can cancel and get all your money back if we cannot accommodate your needs. In your booking message, please send your such as requirements for the celebration of your dreams, what leadership area you want to work on as an individual or as a couple, what you want to experience on the island or desire to learn and grow with horses. Upon receiving your reservation and request, we will message you back with questions and or confirmation of your request. Before and during your stay, you will have the full attention of the staff of Hale Laule'a for all your needs. We will provide information and assist you in getting all the documents and appointments for any requirements you needed such as licenses, caterers and music, events, directions, activities booked, and personal tours of the property, local attractions, and the island. Here is an example of an elopement wedding package put together for a guest: Day 1: This experience starts when you arrive at Hale Laule'a and are greeted with a 60 minute walking tour of the beautiful 5 acre grounds. After the tour you are free to unpack in your beautiful ocean front suite and relax by the pool, spa, or any of the private gardens that adorn the property to relax and get ready for your big day. Tonight a private meal will be brought in from a local restaurant for a private dinner for two on the back lanai of Hale Laule'a or our outdoor space in our shade garden. Following the meal, you will be treated to watch the stars while sitting in the hot tub and drinking champagne. Day 2: The next day, you will will start with a continental breakfast and coffee followed by a two hour communication activity to assist you in your relationship, either with horses, the Myers Briggs Assessment, or a guided physical activity. You will also have a rehearsal and prepare for your ceremony. Lunch and Dinner are on your own. Activities and times will vary by decision of ceremony time. Regardless of your choice of location, upper or lower garden, you will have the wedding or vow renewal ceremony of your dreams surrounded by the ocean, complete with flowers, champagne, cake, photographer, and a wedding official. Up to 50 guest may attend your event (additional guest charges will apply). After your special event, spend the evening alone in your suite or out and about enjoying the property and island. There are many animals on the property such as horses, dogs, ducks, and a tortoise. All animals are friendly and are in specific areas. They will not bother guests, though you can arrange to spend time with them. For more information about what is possible, contact the host. OUR PROMISE TO YOU • All photos are 100% accurate and taken with a cell phone, not professionally done with wide angle lens to make small look big. All pictures are from the property, not nearby attractions. • Upon arrival, you will find the space fully furnished, clean, and stocked with shampoo, soap, paper products as well as clean, quality towels and linens. • Check in is from 3pm to 10pm out of courtesy to our neighbors and to other guest on the property. Please plan travel arrangements accordingly. Upon arrival there is a mandatory safety brief and tour of the property to use the gardens and amenities. If arriving after it is dark, the tour and safety brief will be the next morning. In addition, all guest must provide a government issued photo ID to confirm identify and understanding of house policies. • Taxes are collected for the room upon arrival at Hale Laule'a, and not at booking. A square invoice containing a breakdown of your taxes will be sent to you through Airbnb messages and is payable by Cash, Check or Credit Card. Hawaii charges the following taxes: GET (4.71%)/State TAT (10.25%)/County TAT taxes (3%), approximately 18% tax. Airbnb does not report and pay required taxes for Airbnb host that operate in the state of Hawaii. • This is a detached apartment located on a 5-acre working estate with animals. It is not a hotel/motel, condominium, or timeshare. There are activities going on during the day and night in support of daily living on an estate of this magnitude. • This is a drug-free and tobacco-free property. No smoking, vaping, or chew tobacco is allowed on the property. • Guests agree to stay a safe distance from cliff and follow all rules of the property. Private pick up from Hilo and Kona Airports are available for additional fees. Recommend a rental car during stay to see all areas of the islands. We live on the property in the Main House. There are two Apartments for Rent on the Property, the Solar and the Carriage Apartment, and two Bed and Breakfast suites, Ocean and Banyan Suite. There is a day time property manager on site. Guest Access is only to the Apartment. All outdoor areas are open unless marked restricted.
