Nestled in quiet Clallam Bay, our charming Slip Point Cottage has a bay view and direct, easy beach access just steps from our door. Here, you can relax, beach comb, and explore the amazing Olympic Peninsula knowing you have a cozy home-base to return to. Olympic National Park, stunning rugged coastlines, hiking trails, and surfing spots are all nearby. Just one to two minutes from Seiku and world-class fishing, our 3 BR, 2 bath home offers a wonderful place to get away from it all. Our charming 1941 home has been updated but the original floors and cozy charm remain. The open design of the kitchen, dining area, and living room allows for easy socializing and relaxing, while the gas fireplace adds comfort and warmth to the living area. Directly across the street is a beautiful, secluded beach …just a few easy steps away! Explore what the beach and tidepools have to offer, or just listen to the sound of the waves while relaxing at the cottage. The main floor has 2 bedrooms , a full bathroom, a laundry room, kitchen, living room and dining area. The kitchen is spacious with lots of storage. The upstairs with 2 queen beds and separate bathroom offers a nice place to read or relax and an additional bay view. The steps up are a little bit steeper than most modern homes, so consider this when choosing our home. A game room separate from the house has foosball, ping-pong, darts, and an area for board games or cards. It can easily be used for additional gathering space or rainy day activities. Our house has a deck off the living room, which is a perfect spot to sit and listen to the waves in the evening. At the back of the property is a firepit area for your use - the sound of the ocean - while sitting next to a crackling fire and star gazing is a great way to enjoy a clear sky evening We have ample parking space, and can accommodate trucks and boats Your hosts are available by phone or email for questions or concerns. We want to ensure your stay is comfortable and that you feel prepared for your trip. We are happy to answer questions about the area. We are a short drive away for those times when in-person assistance is needed. our home is situated in a quiet neighborhood, just across the street from the wonderfully peaceful crescent shaped Slip Point Beach of tumbled rock and sand. Tidepools are just past the old coastguard house at the north end of the bay during low tides. Seals, sea lions, otters, birds, and even the occasional whale may be spotted in the bay. Nearby Seiku (just on the other side of the bay!) offers access to world-class fishing. Olympic National Park Neah Bay, Lake Ozette, and the Makah and Neah Bay Reservations are just of few of the surrounding areas that provide a multitude of hiking trails, beach access, or surfing within an easy and short drive. Clallam Bay is in a remote area. We strongly advise fueling and grocery shopping before making the trip to the house. Sequim, Port Angeles, and Forks offer solid options for fuel, groceries, and dining. There are no chain restaurants/stores in Clallam Bay. There are 2 local restaurants in the immediate area offering tasty American diner fare, and coffee drinks can be found at the local market and the local coffee stand, and hours may vary. Check road conditions on Hwy 101 or Hwy 112 for delays or closures. Clallam Bay provides a fantastic gateway to beautiful coastlines and forests of the furthest NW portion of Washington. A car is needed to navigate the Peninsula, but the home is a short walk from the house to the town of Clallam Bay. Once at the house, the closet full grocery is in Forks, but 2 local Clallam Bay markets have good options for snacks and limited grocery items. Approximately 60 m to Port Angeles, 29m to Forks, 40 m to Rialto Beach, 60m to Hoh Rain Forest, 39m to Lake Crescent, 27m to Cape Flattery Travel restrictions may be in effect at the Makah Reservation in Neah Bay. If you plan to visit this area, check for advisories or restrictions, and be sure to purchase their required recreation pass. A few of the explorer's gems that are located there are; - Makah Cultural and Research Center Museum -The Sooes River mouth and Bahobohosh Point are easy walks or drive from Hobuck beach. -Cape Flattery trail – visit the Most NW point of Washington, and see Tatoosh Island from this scenic trail -Shi Shi Beach – this gorgeous Rain forest trail through old-growth cedars ends at a remote and beautiful sea stack laden beach. The house sits on a large double lot. The surrounding yard is in a natural state with some large old fir trees dotting the side yard. The tree roots and natural settling of the earth creates a somewhat uneven ground for walking, so please take care when doing so. Eagles nest nearby, and you can hear them chortle and squeek as the go about your day...they may even swoop by carrrying a fish once in awhile!
