Lots of privacy and nature in this modern off grid screen house! The house is fully enclosed by the jungle, with no street or neighbor views. It has both screened and uncovered lanai space, and well as an "inside" hangout area. This area of lower Puna is a great jumping off point for all your outdoor adventures. The Mostera House is light and airy with custom touches like 12 foot celings in the main house, a sleeping loft (like being in a tree house!) and gorgeous outdoor shower. The Monstera House is a screen house, meaning some walls are just screen. This is great for getting plenty of airflow. We have tried to think of everything you could need to make your stay perfect, from snorkling gear to board games, even starlink unlimited internet The entire 3.5 acre lot is all yours! Tons of fruit trees (when in season!) including pineapples, papaya, Surinam cherry, banana, lemon, lime, guava and a huge trelis covered in lilikoi! I will not be available in person usually, but I am happy to answer any questions via phone or text anytime. The neighbor will be available to assist if you need anything in person. Lower Puna is old counrty Hawai'i in the best way! Tons of beautiful scenery and fun adventures off the beaten path. Nearby, the mermaid ponds are a great swimming spot just one mile away, with large ocean tide pools to swim in right on the ocean. We are right off the old mango groves on Government Beach Road, one of the most scenic drives ever. The neighborhood of Wa'a Wa'a is a completely off grid area, with most of the lots over 2 acres, there's plenty of "country". We are close to the most recent 2018 lava flow and the recently reopened highway 132, where you can drive over the new lava flow. We are 17 mins. from Pahoa, a small wild west hippie town, with several restaurants as well as health food, drug and grocery stores. Hilo has the nearest airport, with many restaurants as well as more shopping options. Kona side is approx 2.25 hours to the west. There is no real public transportation in lower Puna, so a car is a must. We are a 17 minute drive from Pahoa, the nearest town. This off grid screen house has pretty much all the modern conviences you'll need, but there are some things you should know. Any appliances with heating elements are not permitted, ie. hairdryers, clothing irons, toaster ovens ect. The water catchment tank has 2 filters, and there is a Berkey water system for drinking water. The house is only semi-enclosed, so there are plenty of our beautiful tradewinds to cool you off. We are happy to host four legged friends, and just want to make sure that folks from the mainland are aware of the dog quarentine restrictions. Please keep in mind this is the jungle! There are wild boar that come into the yard at night.
