Enjoy spectacular ocean views, turtles, whales (in season), and sunsets from this comfortable 4th floor condo 40 feet from the ocean. You will feel like you are on the water! It has two bedrooms (one is an open loft bedroom) and sleeps 6 (4 beds). Perfect for couples or a family. Enjoy a new kitchen and other updates! Start your day with coffee on the lanai with stunning views. Inside, vaulted ceilings give a spacious feel. High-end sliding glass doors open wide - sleep to the sound of waves! West Maui is open to visitors following the heartbreaking wildfire that destroyed historic Lahaina town (my hometown) in August 2023. Given that tourism is the backbone of Maui’s economy, many hotels, restaurants, businesses, and their local employees are eager for respectful, compassionate, and generous visitors to come to Maui and help the economy and local workers. My husband and I purchased this condo in December 2022. I grew up on Maui, and it has been my dream to have a condo in Papakea to use and share with others. During our many family visits to Maui, we always stayed at Papakea because we loved the view, grounds, and location. Enjoy a full kitchen renovation, partial bath renovation, and many other updates taking place in April/May 2024! The condo will be even more amazing. New photos will be posted after the renovation is complete. Our condo, Papakea F407, has two bedrooms and one bathroom, and sleeps 6. The downstairs primary bedroom has a queen bed. The loft bedroom (which is open to the living room) has a queen bed and two twin beds, making it great for families. Please note: given the balcony, steep stairs, and loft, children require close supervision, and this condo may not be appropriate for all children (i.e., children below 7). The property is set up like a friend's beach home, fully equipped for a wonderful experience, including beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you may need, including new Mai Tai glasses, Instant Pot, and Nespresso machine. Being directly oceanfront, a nice ocean breeze moves through the condo, aided by ceiling fans. For extra hot days or for those who like it really cool, we installed (in May 2023) a top-of-the-line tri-zone AC system. The building has an elevator. The condo has its own washer/dryer. The location is excellent! You are within steps of the Kaanapali boardwalk/beach trail with beautiful views, taking you to Black Rock, Whalers Village shopping center, and beyond. The trail is great for walking or jogging. Restaurants, food trucks, a grocery store, a farmer's market, shops, and more are within walking distance. The sand directly in front of Papakea comes and goes depending on tides and weather. There is a sea wall and steps leading down. Weather and waves permitting, people swim and snorkel in front of Papakea. and lounge chairs on the grass behind the sea wall provide a beautiful place to relax, read, or soak in the ocean view. North Kaanapali beach - a larger beach with lots of sand - is a short walk away. There is fantastic snorkeling at popular nearby Kahekili (Airport) Beach. The town of Lahaina (and surrounding "burn zone") is strictly off limits, and the usual restaurants, grocery stores, gift stores, art galleries, boat tours, and historic sites that visitors frequented in Lahaina town are no longer available. Some tour boats are now operating from Kaanapali Beach. There are many things to do on the other parts of the island: Haleakala crater, the road to Hana, Upcountry, Paia, and South Maui beaches, just to name a few. In addition to the nightly rate, there is a cleaning fee and Hawaii lodging tax of 17.962%. These fees and taxes are included in the AirBnB total cost. Important to Note: 1. Guests are required to check in (and check out) at the Papakea Front Desk. Papakea charges a $17/day resort fee (maximum of 10 days in a 30-day period). This is collected by the Front Desk during check out and covers parking (one vehicle) and all resort amenities and equipment (tennis rackets/balls, pickleball rackets/balls, golf putters and balls). 2. Papakea Resort is starting a phased project in mid-2024 to replace all indoor pipes. The buildings affected in 2024 and early 2025 are: A, B, C, and D -- none of these are adjacent to the F building where the condo is located. This is a fully private condo with private lanai (balcony). Guests share the Papakea Resort grounds, including two heated pools, two jacuzzi hot tubs, lighted tennis courts and pickleball courts (make reservations and get free equipment rental at the Front Desk), shuffleboard, golf putting greens, gas BBQ grills, and two cabanas. Papakea is an oceanfront low-rise resort located on 13 acres in North Kaanapali and exudes Hawaiian charm, with lush gardens and koi ponds, as well as two swimming pools, two jacuzzi hot tubs, lighted tennis and pickleball courts, putting greens, shuffleboard, and gas BBQs for guest use. Free Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the resort. **Papakea charges a $17/day resort fee for the first 10 days of your stay in a 30- day period. This is collected by the Front Desk during check out and covers parking (one vehicle) and all resort amenities and equipment (tennis raquets/balls, pickleball racquets/balls, golf putters and balls, cabanas). You are within steps of the Kaanapali boardwalk/beach trail with beautiful views, taking you to Black Rock, Whalers Village shopping center, and beyond. The trail is great for walking or jogging. Restaurants, food trucks, a grocery store, a farmer's market, shops, and more are within walking distance. North Kaanapali beach is steps away. There is great snorkeling at popular nearby Kahekili (Airport) Beach. Quaint Lahaina town, with lots to do, is a 13-minute drive. Parking (one car) is included. Papakea charges a small daily fee ($5) for a second car. Papakea Front Desk hours are 6 am to 11 pm. If you are arriving after 11 pm, pick up the phone outside the lobby front door and you will be connected directly to security who will guide you to your condo unit. You will enter the unit using a key code that will be sent to you in advance. There are luggage carts at the back of the lobby building that you can use to transport your bags to the condo. The condo building has an elevator.
