In our gated multi-family community you will have the best of both worlds, a private tropical retreat located within 17 acres of lush tropical landscape overlooking Kona’s ocean coastline with country club like amenities, without the high country club fees. Our rare huge 1,100 SF one bedroom with two full baths is truly a gem. It is located on the ground floor with only three steps to the front door. No stairs in the unit. The fresh ocean breezes and tropical fans in each room are often enough for most of our guests. The sound of the ocean waves is truly magical. However, If A/C is a critical need for your stay, please make sure to mention it when you inquire. Hawaii has the highest electrical cost in the United States. We have central air conditioning available for only $25.00 / per day. We do not include A/C in the nightly rate as you would have to pay booking fees, and transient taxes on the A/C fee. It is an extra that we can bill tax-free after your arrival. With tasteful Hawaiian themed decor throughout, you will have two big lanais and a total of four dining areas which can double as a workspace. But we hope you will not spend much time working, there is a nice breakfast nook in the kitchen, a big dining room table, plus two tropical lanais. One lanai overlooks the sparkling blue ocean and pool . The other overlooks a tropical country club setting. We are a gated community, with a security guard checkpoint at the entrance and roaming security patrols. Free parking that is just steps away in general parking. Nestled on Kona Country Club we have country club amenities, including 3 swimming pools (one of which is adult only,) 3 hot tubs, and 2 lighted tennis courts. When you’re not out on adventures, shopping, or taking in the cultural sights on the Big Island, sit back and relax on a comfy lounge chair on your own private lanai overlooking the sparkling pool and crystal blue ocean. We love that Kailua-Kona has a little something for everyone. Within a short distance there are a wide variety of activities, fantastic restaurants, and a quaint historic downtown, not to mention that it's a great home base for touring many of the island's sights. As home to the Ironman World Triathlon Championship, Kailua-Kona attracts people from around the world who want to swim, bike, and run on all or part of the Ironman course. Of course Kailua-Kona also attracts those who want to participate in ocean activities such as learning to surf, trying outrigger canoeing, scuba diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding, or viewing marine life on dolphin, whale, or manta ray tours. There are also lots of land-based activities - golfing, hiking, touring parks, natural wonders, and sacred sights, visiting coffee and chocolate plantations, or feasting at a luau. We're happy to share recommendations for these or any other activities that you are interested in. Most people rent a car when visiting the Big Island, because it is "BIG" (larger than all the other islands combined). So, to explore more of the Big Island's amazing diversity, such as Volcanoes National Park, the Place of Refuge, or the beautiful beaches in north Kohala, a car is required. Kanaloa has free parking just outside of the condo and there is public parking in town. Locals have been renting their personal cars out on Turo. If you want to stay local and not rent a car, taxis, Uber, Lyft and airport shuttles all operate on the island to get you from the airport into town. Once at the condo, you can continue to use taxi's or ride-share services. There are also bike shops that will rent bikes short- or long-term, and public bike-share stations in town and along Ali'i Drive. The Kona Trolley is the hassle-free way to explore the Aliʻi Drive and its shopping, restaurants, beaches, and other attractions. The vehicle used is an open-air trolley that serves trolley stops along the route, which are identified by a Kona Trolley or Hele-On bus stop sign. In addition, passengers can flag the trolley at a safe location. This route serves the Kona Brewing Company, Kona Coast Shopping Center, Kailua Pier, Coconut Grove Marketplace, Lanihau Center, Kona Inn Shopping Center, Royal Kona Resort, Royal Sea Cliff, Kona by the Sea, Kona Bali Kai, Magic Sands Beach, Kahaluu Beach Park, Keauhou Shopping Center, Kona Country Club, and Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa. As part of the Hele-On transit system, the route charges a $2.00 general fare with a $1.00 discount fare one-way for seniors, students, and persons with disabilities. In addition, there are 10-ride tickets and monthly passes available for sale. We will send you a lock box code around 24 hours before your arrival.
