The change in tides in this area is due to various factors, but mainly because the ocean floor along this coastal region is stretched out. The tidal shifts in Puerto Peñasco, while unique, can only be found in 3 other countries Canada, England & France. The Sea of Cortez has one of the most remarkable tide fluctuations in the world.
