In winter, you can watch whales breach and dolphins spin out front; each night, you can admire the sunset over the ocean with Oahu in the backdrop. Inside, you'll be treated to lofty ceilings, a flatscreen TV with cable, free WiFi throughout, and a fully appointed kitchen. There's a king-size bed in the bedroom, a sleeper sofa in the living room, a bathroom with a tub/shower, and a private washer/dryer (brand new January 2023) to refresh your swimsuits each night. The barbecue grills are within a short walk on the grass out back. While the location cannot be beat, we pride ourselves on honesty, and it's important to note that the unit carries a touch of nostalgia that reflect its well-loved history, such as a few paint chips on the cabinets. As a result of its close proximity to the sea, the cottage exhibits minor wear and tear due to the invigorating sea salt. However, rest assured that we take great care in maintaining the space and ensuring your comfort. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. ** General Info: Kepuhi Beach Resort is an oceanfront property on the west end of the island of Molokai, with grounds that include an oceanfront swimming pool, gas grills with picnic tables, and a sundry shop with trinkets and food to purchase. Right out front, on both sides of the old hotel, is Kepuhi Beach, which is great for surfing in the winter months, ideal for swimming and snorkeling come summer, and the site of many paddle races to Oahu. You'll also be a short stroll across the old golf course from Papohaku Beach, one of the longest beaches in the state of Hawaii with waters that are rough in the winter but calmer for ocean swimming in summer. Kepuhi Beach Resort is less than a mile from Make Horse Beach and its many tidepools, seven miles northwest of the town of Maunaloa (the only town on the west end), and 20 miles west of Kaunakakai, where most grocery stores, art/gift shops, mini markets, restaurants, and equipment rentals are located. This arid west side of Molokai, just 12 miles from the airport, is known for having less rain than the east side of the island. And the island-wide evening quiet hours make Molokai perfect for romance, families, solitude, and experiencing a glimpse of the real Hawaii away from the tourist crowds. Molokai is about entertaining yourselves, although Hotel Molokai on a Friday night is entertaining itself! Our host is located on island and are available if any issues arise. We are also happy to provide additional information on the many things to do in Molokai from our own experiences. Renting a car is recommended as there is not easy access for public transportation. Options for Car rentals: Alamo, Dana Kish, Mo Betta Auto Rentals. In the past, the Sheraton Hotel formed a partnership with Kepuhi Beach Resort, sharing common areas for guests. However, the Sheraton Hotel has since ceased operations, and the buildings now remain vacant, owned by Molokai Ranch. As you arrive at Kepuhi Beach Resort, you may notice these boarded-up & dilapidated structures, which are being retained by the ranch.
