In this rural area only 20 mins away from the city of Pereira you’ll find a piece of land that will nurture your soul. Enjoy the simplicity of nature at a slower pace here at Finca La Toya. Home to rescued animals and a collection of native orchids and plants. Our guest house has a bedroom and bathroom on each floor. The 2nd floor has a kitchen, living room, and wraparound balcony with views of the property and many places to sit and enjoy the ambiance. An extra room with a TV provides a wonderful place to enjoy the view. Abundant in fruit and flowering trees, you’ll be able to wonder around the property admiring nature. We encourage a visit to our nursery, which houses a large collection of native orchids and plants along with a vegetable garden. Not far from the guest house is a sectioned area for our rescued farm animals. Should you visit, you will meet our pig Pumbaa, Fernandino the cow, our lambs Luna and Morocho, as well as three goats. You’ll also encounter chickens, many cats, and a few dogs that live on property. A natural spring water pool offers a place where you can take a refreshing dip or enjoy a peaceful moment at the entrance of a forested area on the property. Although we live abroad, both Tony and I will be able to assist you. We can keep in touch through messages. We have a few workers on property and the main house is occupied by the owner. Finca LaToya is nestled high up in the mountains that border the city of Pereira. Neighborhood is called Vereda Las Mangas. The pace of life in the neighborhood is slow, and other than the subtle reminder from cars or motrcycles heading up the mountain, you would think the property is all by itself. You aren't far from scenic drives, hikes, waterfalls, rivers and a national park. Pereira is well located for day trips to other attractions and beautiful towns in the region such as: Salento & Valle de Cócora, Santa Rosa & Los Termales, and Filandia. There may be outages at times. - Although not common, weather can cause electrical outages. - Be aware that there will be noises from animals, neighbors, and workers. - Insects are unavoidable. - Tropical wet climate. - Temperature drops at night. - Narrow and steep stairs.
