If you prefer to stay closer to home, the Princeville shopping center is only a mile away. You'll find a variety of dining choices from the fun, energetic Ti ki Iniki bar and grill to casual Asian take-out with outdoor dining (and often live music) to fancier fine Italian food. The Princeville Shopping Center offers a grocery store, restaurants, boutiques, a yoga studio, and other businesses, and it's a pleasant walk along level ground to get there. Several secluded beaches can be accessed by one of the beach paths (they're rather steep) that go down the bluff, or there's the lovely shady path to Anini Beach on the east side of Princeville. The town of Hanalei, with its restaurants, bars, charming boutiques, and the fabulous beach at Hanalei Bay, is only about a 5 minute drive. In the summer months, when the water is calm, you can even catch a boat tour of the Na Pali Coast out of Hanalei. There are numerous hiking trails a short drive away. You'll find beaches for whatever your favorite beach activity happens to be…surfing (or learning to surf), paddle boarding, snorkeling, volleyball, barbecuing, or napping. Visit amazing Limahuli Gardens with its extensive collection of native plants, and try ziplining or horseback riding. A rental car is highly recommended. Public transportation is not widely available, and taxi cabs are extremely expensive. We recommend that guests reserve a rental car for their visit. Since you'll find many opportunities for shopping, dining, or beach-going within walking distance if you are staying on the east shore or the south shore, you may wish to use a rental car for only a part of your stay, on those days when you'll be sight-seeing farther afield. Your rental is protected by the damage waiver fee you paid. If you should accidentally damage something during your stay, YOU MUST REPORT IT TO US or it is not covered, and you will be charged the cost of repair or replacement. Please be sure to report any accidental damage to us promptly to insure we do not charge you. Note that lost keys or garage openers are not covered by the damage waiver, nor is any damage done in the course of activities that are illegal or in violation of your rental agreement.
