The intimacy of being able to closely view wildlife on foot is special: during the day, you can see impala and zebra walking by and drinking at the water hole and at night, you will occasionally hear the distant roar of lions and whoop of hyenas from across the fence at Ol Pejeta. The house is set on a thousand-acre wildlife estate (Mount Kenya Wildlife Estate) at the foot of mount Kenya. Activities on the estate include bush walks, bird watching, jogging and cycling, and there is a club house with a swimming pool, bar and flat screen TV. Dangerous animals are kept out of the estate by a perimeter fence, and the grounds are safe and secure, with regular security patrols. Please note the entire house will be available for your use. You will be welcomed to Grevy house by Nancy who is our friendly and helpful villa manager. She will show you around the house and also see you off when you leave. Should you need help or advice at all during your stay, Nancy will be available. If you require regular cleaning services and/or a cook during your stay, this can be arranged at an additional cost. The gate into Ol Pejeta is a stone's throw away from the house and the conservancy is one of the best game viewing places in Kenya. You can see the 'big five' here - Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Leopards and Rhinos (including the last remaining Northern White Rhinos) as well as many other species. Besides being part of Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Grevy House is a short drive from several other wildlife conservancies including Solio Ranch, Ol Jogi Conservancy, Sosian Ranch and Lewa downs. The house is only two hours away from the Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves. Grevy House is also an ideal spot to relax for a few nights before or after a climbing expedition to Mount Kenya. Mount Kenya Wildlife Estate is located 13km from Nanyuki, which is approximately a 3 hour drive from Nairobi. Nanyuki is a vibrant town and a gateway to Laikipia and Northern Kenya. Nanyuki has many modern conveniences including a shopping mall, coffee shops and cafes as well as plenty of art and craft shops all set in the hustle and bustle of a rural Kenyan town. There are several reputable restaurants within Nanyuki as well that are worth visiting for instance Barneys at the airstrip, Le Rustique, The Nook, to name but a few. There are also regular flights operating between Nairobi and Nanyuki.
