June Plum and Tamarind - A perfect retreat for a simple country life The names are not random: June Plum is next to a June Plum tree and the Tamarind tree stands just outside the front entrance to the other flat. We are in Gibraltar Estate, a quiet suburban settlement in lush greenery overlooking the Caribbean Sea, minutes from the Ian Fleming International Airport, Golden Eye, and Beaches Ocho Rios. You will have access to the pool and the run of the yard immediately outside your flat and surrounding the main house. Pick whatever you want of any of the fruits that happen to be in season. The setting is quiet, lush, and green—ideal for creatives. Occasionally you will hear the sounds from life in the main house next door, but at night the symphony is a cricket and toad production with a few night owls and hawks chiming in. For a pre-arranged fee, you can arrange to have meals prepared for you in the main house kitchen or make your own in the kitchenette of your flat. Transportation to the beach or anywhere else you want to go can be easily arranged as well. The town of Oracabessa is a five-minute ride away or a 20 minute walk away and there’s always someone going down the hill to the main road. Ocho Rios, Dunns River, and Dolphin Cove are 30 minutes west 10 minutes after you pass Bamboo Beach. Heading east, you’ll hit James Bond Beach and Golden Eye in 5 minutes and Noel Coward’s Fire Fly joust outside Port Maria in 20 minutes. Living in our flats, you’ll share in the lifestyle of a typical Jamaican home. We don’t offer luxury, but you’ll have the same creature comforts we crave: there’s a ceiling fan for warmer days and nights and hot water when a cold shower just won’t do. Guests have access to entire property including pool and private beach nearby. The cottage is ideal for persons looking for a peaceful stay to get away and relax.
