[English] Playa El Coco is a small community 17 kilometers south of San Juan del Sur, where you can find restaurants, hotels, minisuper and 'pulperías' (local stalls). Near Playa El Coco you can do various activities such as horseback riding, bike riding, or go into the mountains and observe herds of howler monkeys, various types of birds, butterflies and other forest animals. At night you can visit Playa la Flor, an entertainment place for sea turtles that are in danger of extinction. In times of arrival (between September and November) of the Paslama turtle (Lepidochelys oliveacea) up to 20,000 turtles can be observed in a period of 4 days. During the day we recommend taking a boat tour in front of El Coco beach and La Flor beach where you can see the turtles that go to the beach to lay their eggs or mating turtles and with some luck you can also see dolphins and you could even see Whales. Son apróximadamente 18 kilómetro. Nota: hay un tramo de 8 kilómetros de camino rural. [En Bus]: Toma un bus en el Mercado Roberto Huembes en Managua a San Juan del Sur (Horarios: 4am / 9am) y tiene un costo de 125 córdobas. En el Mercado Municipal de San Juan del Sur toma un bus hacia El Ostional (Cada 1 hora). Se baja en Playa El Coco (30 min aproximadamente). Una vez en playa El Coco, la dirección es: Del Parque Marítimo el Coco, sigue 800mts al sur, dobla en la primera entrada mano izquierda (letrero), sigue el camino, pasa una curva y continua por 200mts hasta llegar a un portón rojo a mano derecha. Sube la pendiente hasta llegar a la cima donde se encuentra Coco Beach Condo. Para desplazarte con comodidad hacia la playa, lo más recomendado es moverse en vehículo particular. Nota: Puede acceder cualquier vehículo, ya sea sedan, 4x2 o 4x4. Si es más aventurero y no tiene dificultades físicas puede acceder a la playa a pie, le tomará 5 minutos sin prisa.
