Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Le gite embodies the perfect blend of rustic charm and natural beauty. This retreat is a haven for those seeking solace and tranquility amidst the wonders of nature. The expansive windows open up to breathtaking vistas, allowing guests to soak in the ever-changing colors of the rolling hills, and the distant majesty of the Rwenzori Mountains. The cottage encourages a sense of togetherness. The room can accommodate 4 people since it offers 2 double beds. It has a direct access to a bathroom with a shower. There is space to hang in the cottage and read books or play games. While accessing the cottage you have an outside space watching surrounding villages and crater lakes full of matoke plantation. During your stay you will have access to a social where meals will be served, you can be in mezzanine where we have choices of books. A fireplace is also available to warm up on a fire light or to watch the stars. We have hammock in the garden if you want to swing and rest in nature. Amza and our team are on site to attend any request you may have. The stunning Kyambura (or Chambura) Gorge also called the “Valley of Apes” is located in the far eastern corner of the well- known Queen Elizabeth National Park in south western Uganda. Approximately 1 km across – at its broadest point and about 100 meters deep, this gorge is actually drained by River Kayambura. The landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda and it is swarmed a rich wildlife bio-diversity that comprises of primates, wild animals as well as birds. 20 minutes away you will cross over Miramagambo forest and Bushenyi tea plantations. Our area is surrounded by crater lakes, 1 h drive south you find the Ishasha national park, 20 min drive you will enjoy salt lakes, Kazinga Channel and further away you reach Rwenzori mountains. Plenty of activities await you around Kyambura! Take a stroll through the village, down to the mesmerizing gorges and the flowing river. Explore local communities, delve into their livelihoods, savor their cuisine, engage in conversations, absorb their wisdom, and foster meaningful exchanges of ideas. Visit various farms cultivating coffee, cotton, vanilla, and cocoa. We organize scenic walks around the crater lakes, nestled in the heart of 42 such lakes. A mere 30-minute drive leads to the Imaramagambo forest, adjacent to Kyambura Gorge – both renowned habitats of chimpanzees. Enjoy nature walks and embark on captivating chimp trekking experiences. For wildlife enthusiasts, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Ishasha Park offer exhilarating game drives. On the horizon stands the majestic Mountain Rwenzori, soaring to 5109 meters. En route to Kasese town, a 50-minute drive from Kyambura, discover hot springs and river access. Pack a picnic and relish a day swimming in the refreshing Kilembe River before returning to Le Gite for more adventures. Experience the wonders of the Kazinga Channel with a boat ride, where spotting animals like elephants, hippos, and buffalos is a common delight. Revel in the beauty of diverse bird species and the stunning Malachite kingfisher. Alternatively, find tranquility by sitting in the garden or on the terrace, engrossed in a good book while listening to the rhythmic beats of drums echoing through the valley or the melodies of birds.
