Fan life! Nestled within the back of an Italianate Fan house is “The Apartment,” a furnished 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with a living/dining area, kitchen, in-unit laundry, a private back entrance with one parking space in the back (more parking available for an extra fee) with a shared private alley that gives you access to Grace Street. Centrally located, this special block has a "small town feel" yet is walkable to all the fun! Hurry, this space only rents to one rental per month! This furnished monthly apartment includes: a private entrance with a dedicated parking space, generous historic bedrooms each with closets, high ceilings, queen-sized beds, blackout curtains (for those working night shifts), dressers, sheets, pillows and blankets. Hurry, this space only rents once per month. Laundry: in unit washer and dryer. Kitchen amenities include utensils, pots/pans, a coffee maker, toaster, glasses, vintage china, dish towel, a dishwasher, and basic amenities to get you started. Living area includes seating, a dining table and chairs, flat screen tv. Bathroom includes a shower curtain, a basic setup of towels and toiletries to get you started. Utilities: include internet, water, gas, electric. Parking: one parking space behind the apartment is included. A street parking guest pass for a second car is available for $50/mo. (If you are staying for more than 3 months and need 2nd car parking please speak with us for other alternatives.) Art and amenities to make your home away from home a special place! Steps away are Grace Street Park (to walk dogs), Meadow Park (a great place to read or picnic with friends), Monument Avenue (the median is popular for strolling, jogging, and gathering with friends), so many restaurants (where to start?), an easy walk to get your groceries at Whole Foods... and a PULSE bus stop! Within a mile-ish are the VMFA, VMHC, the Science Museum (and its new urban park!), live music at The Camel, Broadberry, VCU, Altria Theater, The National, Kroger, plenty of breweries, endless entertainment... yet on a quiet block- a friendly, small town feel in the heart of the Fan, minutes to downtown, with quick access to bus lines (including The Pulse to MCV), interstates, and Amtrak. Walk to Fox Elementary or Binford Middle, Orchard House is on the corner. We might be biased but we think it’s the best block in Richmond! The back, where you park and access the apartment, is not the most beautiful (yet). But inside is happy, cozy, clean! Access to Grace St is via a private shared (with the other unit) alley (keys are in the apartment). Available for weeks/months at a time, this apartment is a great way to call Richmond's charming Fan district your "home" while you're in town! See floorplan- the apartment is self-contained within the Italianate- 2 bedrooms with an open living area, kitchen and bathroom. The entrance is steps from your private parking spot in the alley, and a private side alley (key is inside the apartment when you arrive) gives you easy access to Grace Street. I love to help people see Richmond for the wonderful city it is! When I'm in the city I'm running between a busy work schedule and events, and am happy to let you know of anything going on... or can just let you be. But I do hope we meet on the porch! Please enjoy it, it's a great way to be part of The Fan- people-watching and lounging on a porch. Walking is also a great way to learn the city & I'm happy to walk with you when around (I try to walk daily, and in interesting spots, reach out!). We're always out & about so if you're stumped for things to do just ask. Otherwise, we keep to ourselves. Settled into The Apartment, you are now in a central location that is "truly Richmond" where most cultural events are within easy reach, often within walking distance- the theater, museums, VCU... The Fan is a historic district filled with beautiful architecture, great restaurants, and so many cultural events. Once you are done with whatever brought you to Richmond, after work you won't have to travel far to find interesting things to do- you're in the center of it all! The Fan is such a walkable neighborhood! One dedicated parking space out back comes with the rental, and you can rent a guest pass (which gives you on-street parking in zone 2) for a 2nd car. Friends can park further away- there is free parking on streets 1 block away. Make sure to read my manual/reach out for advice, I love to give tips!
