However, we also hope you find this general information helpful. Walking: Villas del Faro is a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, making walking a pleasant and viable option for getting around. You can explore the residential streets, admire the beautiful views of the mountains, Natural Reserve, Light House and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or access the tennis court, or pool on foot. Private Vehicle or Car Rentals: If you're visiting Maunabo, renting a car or having a private vehicle is a must. This will allow you to access stores, explore beyond the immediate neighborhood, and can provide you with the flexibility to travel at your own pace. The roads near the Beachy Tortuguita at Villas del Faro are well-connected and are both a convenient way to explore the area and take in the panoramic views. Maunabo is full of beaches and places to visit: Playa Punta Tuna is a walk across the street. It is lined with coconut palms and is great for sunbathing, nice lighthouse views, and is perfect for listening to the waves. To get a good swim or kayak ride, visit Villa Pesquera in Patillas. It is a 20 minute drive away. There is also a nature preserve at the end of the road to explore. For surfing, skimboarding, and bodyboarding, visit California beach. It is only a 10 minute drive. A hidden gem for its’ smooth black sand is Los Bohios beach (or Playa Negra in Spanish), which is only a 4 minute drive. For a slight dip, but no swimming, take a 3-6 minute drive to Playa de Mario, Los Pinos or Playa Larga. International Luis Munoz Marin Airport: 1 hour and 5 minutes. Old San Juan: 1 hour and 8 minutes. Ceiba ferry or airport to Culebra and Vieques island: 53 minutes. Patillas Beach: 11 minutes. Columbia Sugar Mill Ruins: 6 minutes. Maunabo Tunnel: 5 minutes. Palmas del Mar in Humacao: 30 minutes. El Yunque National Forest: 1 hour and 6 minutes. La Ruta de Lechon (Pork Highway) in Guavate: 1 hour and 3 minutes. Beaches of Yabucoa: 10-15 minutes. Humacao Natural Preserve: 30 minutes. Charco Azul in Patillas: 51 minutes. Please note that all states driving times can vary depending on the traffic. Things to know: -Park only in the assigned parking spots, which are designated with the numbers #145 and #146 - You will be permitted to utilize the Gazebo del Mar, which is the larger/main pool located near the security booth and basketball court, where you enter the complex. -Other pools around the neighborhood are for the exclusive use of owners. - The pool closes at 10pm. - We highly recommend this apartment for 5 guests, but if you are a group of 6, one of the guests can sleep on an air mattress or the sleeping sofa. -No pets, sorry. -No lifeguards in pools or beach. - Two set of stairs are required to be used to obtain access to the apartment. - This apartment is located in the southeastern portion of Puerto Rico. Renting or having a car is required to move around and explore the east coast. - This is a coastal town, but not a tourist town. It is an excellent escape from the busy life of the city. - Located in an excellent location if you desire to explore the east and/or south of Puerto Rico. The form will be provided after booking and in advance of your stay. The form requires a list of all guests that will be staying. We must submit this form to security at least 48 hours in advance of your stay, otherwise a fine is incurred. Therefore, failure to complete the form timely will result in a $100 fee. No visitors will be allowed except those that pre-registered, so please list everyone.
