Treetop Tambo with Ocean View
Sleep among the trees on a Nicaraguan eco farm with a view of the Pacific Ocean and access to a secluded waterfall. Head down to the river to cool off and look for the howler monkeys. Take a walk along the trails in our humble village. Harvest some of the plants grown on the farm. The bungalow has electricity, two twin beds, a wooden floor, and an extra folding bed (tijera). It's designed with 360° views as fresh air and ample daylight flow through the space. Outside is a covered ramada with hammocks for your relaxation overlooking the countryside and ocean. You have access to a beautiful waterfall, our agroforestry farm, and a traditional Nicaraguan village. Your stay includes access to the kitchen and cooking basics: cookware, utensils, cooking oil, basic spices, etc. The local caretaker is Spanish speaking only and can assist you during your stay if needed. The waterfall is a short walk away on foot. Feel free to visit at your leisure. Activities: Take a motorcycle tour visiting off-the-beaten track gems in the countryside and secluded beaches on the Pacific. Practice your Spanish. Learn to forage seasonal plants in the tropical forest of the Pacific. Learn to make common Nicaraguan food. Relax and read books in a hammock. You will have access to the farm, kitchen, waterfall, and fresh drinking water. Earplugs and a headlamp are good to bring along. You can go food shopping in Diriamba. Snacks and beverages are available in the barrio a few minutes away. Internet: There is no wifi on the property, but we have excellent data service from both cell service providers. If you need Internet access during your stay, we recommend buying an inexpensive SIM card with data package from Tigo or Claro in Diriamba. (You will need an unlocked GSM phone). Buses run to our farm 3 times a day from the public market in Diriamba. Bus time departures Mon - Sat: 11am, 1pm, 5pm. Sundays: 11pm. Cost: 25 cordobas per person. Mototaxis (tuk-tuks) run all day and can be negotiated for 300 cordobas. The farm is 15km from Diriamba and is not difficult to reach.
