They do frequent the area at times. •Airbnb’s algorithms have put us in a category within 10 minutes of walking distance to a lake but this is incorrect (it is a private gravel pit). We have reached out to them but remain in this category. We are however within 10 driving minutes to Chena Lakes. •TRAIN - There is a train track a couple of blocks away, you can hear the train from the cabin, it has not been bothersome. •GRILL & FIRE PIT may not be accessible in winter. •This is a single story home but you will need to go up two steps to reach the kitchen, bathroom & bedroom area from the entry & living room area. ❗️—IMPORTANT—- •Due to severe ALLERGIES, PLEASE do not request or book a stay, with ANIMALS. We appreciate your understanding. •Fire pit and grill may not be accessible in winter depending on the snow load and temperatures. •All hosts in the Fairbanks North Star Borough are required by law, to collect and pay an 8% room / bed tax from guests. We do live nearby if there’s a need. In a decent, safe, friendly neighborhood tucked just around the corner from everything in North Pole. On a corner lot with roads in the front and on one side, and an 18 ft. wooded power line easement in the back. There’s a home across the street and one next door, on the other side of the garage. North Pole Ale House is across the side street, through trees, on the other side of the parking lot, and has never been an issue. •3 minutes to The famous Santa Claus House (gifts, reindeer, fudge, Santa himself!) •10 minutes to Chena Lakes (good Aurora viewing, picnic, swimming, ice fishing, canoeing) •2-5 minutes to Restaurants, parks, groceries, post office, churches, gas stations, pharmacy & more. •15 minutes to Eielson AFB •20 minutes to Fairbanks / Ft Wainwright •25 mins to FBKS International Airport. •2 1/2 hrs to Denali Park •1 hr 15 minutes to Chena Hot Springs Having your own mode of transportation is pretty much a must and can take you to many sights that would otherwise be difficult to impossible, or rather expensive to see. This is a vast land and places are spread out. In the winter months (Sometimes as early as September through as late as May - (check the weather!) it is recommended to have four wheel or all wheel drive (A white Christmas is not optional here!). However, the road is paved (or covered in ice and snow) up to the house. There is also a public bus system with stops nearby as well as taxi cabs and Uber. All things in North Pole are within walking distance but you likely won’t want to be walking everywhere if it’s too cold in the winter! Security cameras are located only outside, around the perimeter of the home for our security as well as yours. You have access to the monitor, view or turn it off and on at your convenience.
