Casa de Mono is a charming villa located between town and Bluff moments from the beach and set within a lush jungle garden. The Villa can accommodate up to 12 guests. There are 4 units within the villa and all are part of one building structure however they each have their own entrances and spaces so perfect for groups that want to be together but have their own private area. We will allocate and advise which unit/s are available to you depending on the number of guests booking. ** Unless you are booking for 12 people, you will not have access to the entire Villa, and we will advise upon receiving your booking request for the number of guests which units we have available. Please ensure you enquire for the correct number of guests, the price will change for each guest added!** Each unit is private within itself but part of the larger Villa so there may be other guests staying in other units during your stay. When sending through your enquiry please ensure you enquire for the correct number of guests so we can allocate the correct number of units. 3 of the units accommodate 2 people each, and the larger apartment within the villa can accommodate 6 people in 3 bedrooms The Villa layout is described below: There are 2 ensuite A/C king rooms each with their own private entrances, balconies with hammocks and seating and a shared kitchen to the west of the Villa. The shared kitchen is located to the back of the property and is not joined to the rooms, they are accessible via the staircase leading off each balcony to the back of the house. The larger 3 bedroom apartment of the Villa is the east wing and features 1 ensuite A/C king room, 1 ensuite A/C twin room, 1 double room and an open plan living and dining room with a large kitchen. On the ground floor below the villa is a self-contained one bedroom A/C queen bed apartment with its own kitchen, bathroom, chill area and outdoor dining and hammock. Unit description: Open air 3 bedroom apartment- The larger 3 bedroom apartment of the villa boasts a spacious open living room, dining room and kitchen that is enclosed only with mosquito netting, which allows for the natural breeze to flow through the house and the sounds of the jungle to filter in. It is surrounded by nature and if you are lucky enough you will see the howler monkeys playing in the trees directly in front of the lounge. The enclosed ensuite king room with A/C in the main part of the Villa comes off the living area and is spacious with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The enclosed ensuite twin room with A/C is located upstairs above the master suite and features two twin beds and views out onto the garden and jungle. The double room is above the living area and is a semi-open room enclosed with mosquito netting to the front and perched in the trees. This room does not have A/C, but has a fan and because of the open air nature of the house remains cool during the evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, and more! Its an entertainers dream with open plan dining and living - there is even a hammock in the living room. 2 Ensuite King rooms- The 2 separate ensuite king rooms with A/C to the west wing of the Villa, one above the other each with their own private entrances and balconies that wrap around 2 sides of each room. The rooms come equipped with a stocked mini fridge and coffee station, spacious bathroom with an outdoor shared kitchen (enclosed with mosquito netting) to the back of the house. The ground floor garden view apartment - Below the house is the one bedroom queen bed apartment with A/C with views out onto the garden. It has its own beautifully decorated fully stocked kitchen, small lounge area and a bathroom. It features an outdoor dining area and hammock on the patio beneath the house Beneath the villa will find surfboards and snorkels available for use during your stay. We can help book tours and activities on your behalf, and have created a comprehensive guide book with all recommended tours and activities, please ask should you wish to see this. Space is available for quad bikes and bicycles The garden is lush and and attracts all kinds of wildlife. At night we have string lights to light the way. All guests will have access to the lush jungle garden which has a covered patio to the front with seating, and a table and chair set to the back of the property under the trees, as well as the outdoor shower and the surfboards and snorkels located beneath the house. The 2 ensuite king rooms are spacious private areas with their own balconies and outdoor seating and a hammock each. The rooms have access to a kitchen they share to the back of the property which is accessible via a staircase leading off the balcony at the back. They each have their own entrances and spacious ensuite bathrooms. The larger 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment has its own entrance, indoor lounge area, dining area and kitchen which is not shared with any of the other units. The ground floor one bedroom apartment has its own entrance, bathroom, kitchen and indoor lounge area private to the apartment and is not shared with any of the other units. **The dining area and hammock is outside the apartment beneath the house, and other guests and ourselves will have access to this area as this is where the surfboards, snorkels and our storeroom is located. Big Creek is perfectly located between Bluff Beach and Bocas Town. You have the best surf spots, snorkeling, and swimming beaches on your doorstep, as well as a nearby mini market and multiple restaurants to choose from - across the road is Skullys with 4 different restaurants, Ciao Pizza is next door, Dosha Organic cafe is 1 short walk down the road and at tiger tail surf break (8min walk away) is Paki Point. It is a beautiful peaceful area to go explore jungles, beaches, and cafes or surf at the famous Tiger Tail or Paunch Surf Break. We are located 15 min drive from the centre of Bocas Town, including the airport. The road from town takes you directly past our front gates. The nearest beach is about 80m away, a quick stroll across the road. This is a small cove perfect for snorkelling and relaxing, sipping your morning coffee, a quick dip or if travelling with kids the perfect wave-free spot for kids to play and have fun. We have parking spaces on the property as well as space to park your bikes or bicycles. Taxi's pass by the property frequently as we are situated just off Beach road. Buses pass every hour in either direction towards Playa Bluff or towards Bocas Town. We also have a number of reliable taxi drivers to call in any event. It costs $3 per person for a taxi ride from the centre of Bocas town/Airport to reach us. Biking around Bocas is a fun and economical way to get around, however the preferred choice for most visitors is to hire a quad bike or e-bike across the road and use this for the duration of their stay. WiFi is not a high speed connection and is adequate for most functions. We are not yet geared up for remote working functionality that requires strong video support and can recommend some Co-working spaces in town that can support strong Internet connection.
