Los Morrilos Lighthouse: Built in 1882 and located on an isolated point with white lime cliffs surrounded by lagoons and marshes, Cabo Rojo's lighthouse marks the southeast entrance from the Caribbean Sea through the Mona Passage into the Atlantic Ocean. Beaches: Playuela: Playuela covers more than 4,000 feet of coastline, and it has five distinct ecosystems. The area is rich in flora and fauna, and several protected species call it home. Surfers are known to love the area as it has some of Puerto Rico's and the Caribbean's best surf break spots. More Beaches! Cabo Rojo has 28 miles of coastline! In this town you will discover 18 beaches, among which Buyé and Combate stand out. Unlike Playuela, these two beaches are more family-friendly and have kiosks or restaurants nearby. In addition, at both beaches you will find equipment rentals, including kayaks and snorkels, beach chairs, and umbrellas. Both beaches are accessible, and the waters are calm, without waves. Downtown Cabo Rojo is a walkable area! We're in the epicenter of restaurants, bars, spas, and a movie theater! If you're hitting the beach, the nearest one (Combate) is a quick 7 min Uber!
