Greetings and Welcome to School Of Vision, where Ital is vital. We’re in the heart of Jamaica’s most beautiful settings, high up in the magnificent Blue Mountains. (Middleton District, ST Andrew, Gordon Town, P.O) Our location is 1 of the top 10 Recommended places to visit on the Island. So if you are ready for a cultural adventure starting with a rewarding hike to a spiritual sanctuary, our superhost is waiting to welcome you. Situated proximately 2.5 hours from Kingston Manley Airport, is The guest house, it is securely located in a Rastafarian community so one can feel safe and confident on the mountain day or night, the locals are friendly and helpful so you don’t have to worry about anything. We cater to all visitors such as single hikers to large families, who just want to come relax. At the School Of Vision you’ll be in the midst of mama nature’s finest morning aroma, whitest digesting outstanding panoramic views of the mountains, Kingston city, and the ocean, so be ready to capture as many images and videos as one can. Our Space offers you a comfortable and affordable place to rest as we have, 3 single rooms, and 3 double rooms (one of which includes an on-suite and the other a small private balcony). The house also has 1 shared bathroom with a shower and toilet, a kitchen with a full cooking facility, and a dining area. We have a large balcony which can accommodate all guests at one time and a special seating area overlooking our farm and breathtaking mountain views, just seconds away from the house if you fancied some time alone. We also offer freshly cooked ital vegetarian/vegan fine cuisines, harvested from our farms with our own creative recipes. Alternatively, guests are welcome to visit our small shop where one can purchase light meals and refreshments to prepare themselves. Here at School Of Vision, we are passionate about sharing our historical skills, so please feel free to visit our gift shop at the house, we have a wide range of products and unique handmade gifts, exclusively available for our guests. We have one-of-a-kind swimwear, bags, hats, healing oils, perfumes, wooden carving, jewellery, natural soaps Jamaican roots wine and so much more. We currently have nothing off-limits so guests will have full access to Free Wifi and everything that is situated in the guest house, guests will also have access to our temple. We pride ourselves on our traditional Rastafarian Faith and Culture so we welcome everyone to join and experience our Spiritual alignment which, Is led by our Priest, Dermot Fagan in our sacred temple. Take the opportunity to see how we embrace bible teaching as well as giving Ises to the Most High the Rastafarian way, through Niyah Binghi chanting and drumming, (please note that Sabbath is kept most of the day on Saturdays). I am so passionate about meeting new people from all over the world, so I make it my duty to interact with my guest very often. I am always available and present during all my guest's stay, I ’m located close to the guest house if I’m needed. I love everything about my neighborhood we have a friendly environment and also very fun loving people around and very jovial and adorable children. Our guest are guaranteed to have a very good experience here, because being on the mountain makes them apart of us, family. There is public transportation about 15-20 minutes from the bottom of the mountain, parking is included at the car park below the mountain too, we also offer transportation from the airport to our guest house at a fee. We are always delighted to teach our guests about our cultural ways of living and the skills required to do so. This is why we offer our guests the opportunity to learn how to farm on the mountain, learn about the history of wooden craftsmanship and how to get started, have a Binghi drumming tutorial with the brothers, and learn how to crochet step-by-step with the sisters. We also offer tours, whereby one can visit the river or explore the mountain peak in depth, and digest Jamaica’s land and the food grown here, such as the world's best coffee beans Jamaica’s Blue Mountain Coffee. (Please contact the host when booking for the prices if you are interested in any of the above). We provide transfers to and from Kingston Airport as an additional fee, so if this is a service that you will require please let us know when making your booking for prices and availability. We are located very high up in the mountains so please be prepared to hike for at least 30 to 40 minutes, we recommend traveling with a backpack and padlock for your room, and remember to pack plenty of fluids for the hike. We do not tolerate any form of violence, abuse, or inappropriate behavior, so we kindly ask you to respect our Guest house and community.
