The north shore dream! Perfect launch point for Hana, Haleakala or Kite/Wing surfing! This is a sweet third floor WALK-UP apartment that is my Maui dream manifest into reality. I love being here and sharing it with others. The apartment is a perfect place to chill after a day of enjoying the North Shore winds (kite/wing/surf), Haleakala, or before/after the road to Hana. I have the kitchen stocked with close to everything you may need to cook, but not bake (no oven yet). The stove is convection. There is a milk frothier, pour-over coffee supplies, and blender and various kitchen tools. There is an assigned parking stall associated with the unit. There is NO elevator. You will need to be willing and able to walk up the stairs to the third floor. Paolo is the on-island co-host. Both of us try to be very available through the AirBNB app text service. Our phone numbers are also listed in the guest information in the unit. Kuau Store is half a block away and has basic groceries, poke, beer, ice, and take-out breakfast and sandwiches. Mama’s Fish House is directly behind the condo (just cross the lawn and go out the back gate). The small beach in front of Mama’s has public access from a path described when you check into the unit. The beach is protected by a reef and is practically a natural swimming pool. There is space for one vehicle in the parking lot. There is no way to charge an electric vehicle. There is a close-by bus stop, but most folks will be happiest with a vehicle to get around. The apartment is in Kuau Plaza building on the third floor next to Hana Hwy. Two issues: (1) there is NO elevator - it is a walk-up; (2) for people that are sensitive to car noise, the sounds of traffic may be annoying. Most guests find that the “white noise” of the bedroom AC masks the traffic. We also provide ear plugs. BUGS ( ants and cockroaches) Despite a regular disinfestation treatment performed on the entire complex and individual unit, Maui is a tropical climate and the presence of insects is inevitable especially in the case of any food residues left on surfaces in the apartment.
