Ceramic tile floors are throughout the house; air conditioners and fans are in each room. The many windows around the dwelling allow the invigorating trade winds to gently flow through the home. The front patio provides a view of the turquoise Atlantic Ocean and barrier reef which runs the length of the settlement of Whitby. The back patio which overlooks the garden gives the nature lover an eye-catching view of the local flora as well as the beautiful island sunsets. A short walk on an access trail (~90 yards) puts you on the pink and white sandy 10km long gently sloping, unspoiled beach which is perfect for all ages. North Caicos is named the garden isle of the Turks and Caicos; the vegetation is lush; the people are very friendly and accommodating. It’s extremely quiet, uncrowded and unspoiled – another gem in the archipelago. The islands of North Caicos and Middle Caicos are connected via a causeway which allows you to drive over to Middle Caicos to explore and enjoy the beaches and sites over there during your stay at Flamingo's Nest. You can check out Three Mary Cays, Mudjin Harbour, Bambarra Beach, and the Conch Bar Caves. You will be flying into the Providenciales International Airport (PLS) located on the island of Providenciales (aka Provo). North Caicos is the next main island east of Provo. You have to take the Caribbean Cruisin' ferry to get to North Caicos from Provo. The 30-minute ferry ride from Provo takes you to Bellfield Landing in Kew, North Caicos. The house is a 25 min drive from the dock where the ferry boat arrives/departs. For those interested in sightseeing and/or beachcombing in Middle Caicos, it is about a 30-min drive to get to Middle Caicos from the house. Your best option is to rent a vehicle while on North Caicos in order to travel around freely. If you would like assistance, we can arrange taxi transfers to/from the Providenciales International Airport to the dock, and your car rental in North Caicos. You will be flying into the Providenciales International Airport (PLS) located on the island of Providenciales (aka Provo). North Caicos is the next main island east of Provo.
