Our home was custom designed in 2003 by esteemed San Miguel architect, Juan Carlos Valdez, in the ancient hacienda style, arranged around a central courtyard with a fountain. The villa was featured in a book titled “Haciendas - Spanish Colonial Houses in the U.S. and Mexico” by Rizzoli. All rooms have special materials and features: tile from Dolores Hidalgo, a front door from China, a living room door from Afghanistan. The shutter details were inspired by a monastery in Zacatecas. Guanajuato stone and wood from Durango, Mexico contribute to vaulted and domed boveda ceilings made of brick. Artisan details throughout: carved cabinets, hand-wrought iron gates and railings. Our home is decorated with Mexican folk art, paintings and stone carvings. The main entrance opens from quiet residential street. The garden gate leads to the lovely private gardens of "Villas del Parque" with a Gazebo. This is the way to Parque Juarez or towards towards the Parroquia Church in the heart of town. This is our second home. We love spending time here with family and friends as often as we can. Access to the entire house and garden. Free secure parking in within the community. Easy walking to everything. Caretaker Jesus (speaks Spanish and English) and housekeeper Alicia are in the house 7am - 3pm Monday through Saturdays. The location is ideal, close to the center yet it is a quiet neighborhood. The entrance is at the intersection of Aldama, Baeza and El Cardo. The elegant Rosewood hotel, a few minutes walk from the home, offers restaurants, bars, spa and health club. (Day passes available) Parque Juarez is also steps away, always a lovely place for a stroll. Most everything is reachable on foot - just make sure you wear comfortable and slip resistant shoes to navigate the cobble stone streets, some are steeper than others. Taxis are inexpensive, good and easy to find. We have a parking space for your vehicle. Only registered guests will be able to enter the Villas del Parque complex. Prior to your arrival please kindly provide the names of each member of the group. Tipping: As customary in Mexico we kindly ask you to give a tip to our wonderful staff at the end of your stay.
