Our Hide Away is located in the tropical garden of Travel in' restaurant on the Caribbean coast. Ideal if you enjoy being in the middle of nature, on the edge of the mangrove. A good place for seasoned nature lovers familiar with it's environment. Travel in' lies, off the beaten track, 6 kms south of the village of Mahahual, Costa Maya. The beach road is made of limestone and has potholes. We also have our Guest House at Travel in' listed on Airbnb, with 1 double bed for max 2 guests. The Hide Away has 2 double beds, a ceiling fan and you get a key to a separate bathroom with shower (cold water). The screens all around offer a mangrove view on one side and a flowerfull garden on the other. The standard price is for 2 persons, for each extra person up to 4 an extra 10 US a night will be charged. Purified drinking water is provided. Breakfast can be served on request. Our cosy restaurant is open on reservation and offers a home made international cuisine. There are various sitting areas in the garden or on the beach where you can relax, read a book or just enjoy a nice drink watching the moonrise or enjoy the free show put on by the heavens whilst star gazing. The night falls and jungle sounds will accompany you to bed. We are proud to still have a wide variety of wildlife including many migrating birds. Straight in front you will find the world's second largest coral reef with excellent diving, snorkeling and fishing. We are ecologically aware, running on solar energy and catching rain water for bathroom use. A selection of possible day trips: The lagoon of 7 colors in Bacalar The mayan ruins of Chacchoben or Kohunlich The maya museum in Chetumal The Sian Kaan bio reserve. Boattrips, for example to the keys of Belize or to Chinchorro reef. Diving, snorkelling and fishing. We will be very happy to provide you with information and help you plan the excursions you would like to do. Wireless Internet is available in and around the restaurant area. We provide snorkeling equipment and you may use our kayaks. Sitting areas in the garden and on the beach. Restaurant with terrace. Parking off the road on our parking area next to the restaurant. The Costa Maya is still a very natural environment with the 2nd largest barrier reef in front and a huge area of mangrove and wet lands behind. In Mahahual there are many taxis available. Also collectivos and 2nd class Caribe busses to and from Chetumal and a 1st class ADO bus to and from Playa and Cancun.
