While taxi services can be arranged for personal tours and charters, private car rental is encouraged for personal commuting and for generally getting around the island. Access to zip-lining and other hiking trails are within a 10-minute drive, and access to grocery shopping, beachfront dining, and other local restaurants are within a 10-15 min drive. Additional dining, shopping, and sightseeing options are available in the city of St. Johns and around the island. Tours by land or sea can also be arranged or recommended by local vendors who generally accept credit/debit payments in US currency. COVID-19 Updates: The Pearl is a safe-travel destination. guests are required to present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (real time polymerase chain reaction) test result, taken within seven (7) days before arrival. Children under 12 years of age are not required to present a negative test to enter the Country. As an additional safety, guests are subject to an assessment by the Port Health Authorities for signs and symptoms through a series of checks and the completion of a health declaration form on arrival. Arriving guests will be monitored for COVID-19 for periods of up to 14 days in accordance with the directions of the Quarantine Authority and the Quarantine (COVID-19) Guidelines.
